I don't believe that's correct - as per Tom Wilkinson 8/12/23 on x, they had reached the halfway stage in patient recruitment. I would be amazed if they had found the other 500 in a month....

Not everyone has motives Tommy - I for one expressed my opinion, there is no FUD element behind that.

I also believe they had offers post P2, no evidence to back this claim obviously as I do not work for Synairgen but this is just my view. The P2 results really were that fantastic - good enough to get a mention in the House of Commons.

As Doc alluded to earlier, it’s the lack of comms - a half yearly statement (possibly exaggerating) that we are proceeding with planning the trials doesn’t cut the mustard.

Yes completely agree, there is nothing deliberate about this. As you say, it is just taking time.

Yes Tommy that may be so, but it would still make sense (if feasible) to target launch of trials during the winter season where there is naturally more access to patients.

If i sell ice cream, it is likely my peak would be in summer. If i sell plumbing parts, it is likely that my peak is autumn / winter.

It can be slightly difficult to grasp (no offence intended) and I’m sure there are people better placed with more knowledge to answer this than me.

However, steroids did not prevent the drug showing an improvement because the improvement made by administering sng in certain outcomes was on top of the improvement patients made by taking dex alongside.

If patients are making a recovery anyway by taking placebo (dex) and the treatment cohort are taking dex as well as sng, it would have taken a larger trial to show the statistically significant results needed or smaller targeted trials which is where I believe we are trying to get to now.

The reason for the ‘failure’ (if you want to call it that) of the trial is down to the selection of patients. It is clear now that SNG needs to be administered to a select group which are starting to be identified.

What a lot of people get wrong regarding Sprinter is that Dex did not mess up the trial, it played its role in the ability of people to get better. The effect seen by administering SNG was an effect on top of the effect of Dex.

So there was a positive effect on some of the outcomes, but not a statistically significant difference between placebo and treatment.

The effect shown by our drug was on top of SOC, but yes the key is targeting the right groups to show that a effect on a more significant basis.

Yes Tommy, perhaps letting them get on with it rather than berating every post will benefit other readers here.

Like I alluded to the other day, none of us know what is going on - there may be a time where you get to turn around and say "I told you so" in regards to one of the many theories posted here, it may in fact be the other way round.

Until the point that the company breaks cover or whatever other term they have used, lets try and be a bit more respectful to each other.

I find the insight you provide thought provoking to say the least.

I don’t know which route the company is going to take but I’m interested to hear the possible options. I therefore don’t agree with posters suggesting a particular point is nonsense as they don’t know either.

Keep posting, as we have seen today, it has generated a discussion that is far beyond what is usually on this board, if any at all.

Yes Doc is correct. This point has been explained many times to Mani and Macosta, they do not seem to get the reporting process.

You dont need to slap IMHO on the end to try and justify such a stupid sentence. We have done this to death now, the p3 was underpowered, what RM is saying is that to do another p3 on the back of Sprinter targeting lots of different viruses would likely also be underpowered and therefore not providing the right data.

They will be looking at biomarkers and selecting the right patients which means the trial can be smaller and more likely a success.

I agree that progress is slow but surely you cannot expect details on trials before they have been agreed, signed off and announced.

They would also not disclose discussions they are having with BP (if any) until there is something concrete.

I want to see the detail like everyone else but this wont be shared until it is ready.
