I think they're calculating the potential odds and taking a punt.
I'm doing something similar, although I've made my profit so I'm gambling with someone else's money now.
If I could have the same choice I had two years ago, I wouldn't have re-invested here to hold.
I might have continued trading for a while longer.

Total loss for holders.
Profit and/or partial loss for traders (hopefully becoming less of a loss, but that's rarer and much harder to come by).

Been watching folks say that every week for a year, all the way down from above 1p.

The spread is quite wide and has been for a while.
So, although you're seeing the price here as below 0.15p, you should consider that you'll already need to budget for a buy of around 0.16p.

Nissan Leaf batteries have nowhere near as much longevity as the existing Tesla batteries (let along Musk's recent battery announcement).

I was looking at changing to electric recently.
Tesla seems to have a 7% battery efficiency loss over ten years.
Whereas the rest are reportedly losing up to 10% PER year.
(In fairness, these "facts" may be more of a testament to how good Tesla's press office is).

Also, the battery performances/storage are affected by temperature.
They're also affected by charging in different temperatures and how low the battery is when it's charged.
I did see one report which also claimed Tesla batteries were more reasonable with 'fast' charging.
I can't remember the figures, but the rest seemed to cost battery-life something like 20% while fast-charging a Tesla cost 3% over a similar period.

(I do have shares in Tesla so I may just be seeing whatever figures I want to see).

I'm pessimistic, but I have holdings (bought at higher prices).
If I was a NEW investor looking for potential, I would view this as one.
But I wouldn't put too much in to just UKOG, which I read many seem to be doing.
Spread your risk around (I have less than 5% of my whole portfolio in trading shares like UKOG).*

* A wise man told me years ago to invest like a pyramid.
The foundations should be made from pensions and 'low' risk funds.
The ground floor is narrower and has slightly more risk.
The 1st floor is still narrower and has more risk.
And so on until you get to the apex which may only hold 5% of the pyramid's volume, but contains most of the risk.

That little bit is easier to replace if something happens.

But not by holding.
I banked 50% and then re-invested 50% (in stages, as the price fell) to hold.
What I've held I've lost on.
I've had to trade to recover and I still have some to go.
Two weeks ago I was down to an approx loss of 30%, but it's fallen again since and that's back up to 50% now.
Few opportunities to trade anything without an amount of volatility.
