I see no reason for any concern. This is probably short term volatility, and given the shares performance in recent months, a retrace of this sort is always likely. Ultimately, the price will be determined by news.
It wouldn't be necessary to actually buy to test the market. A dummy purchase would indicate the actual price for a potential purchaser. The quantity being purchased would also be important so a small purchase may be no indication of the price paid for a large buy
I agree, but the logical conclusion is that we will catch up later IMHO. Neil Woodford has said that it is much harder for these kind of businesses to obtain funding in the UK, I think this will also change.

I believe that The shares were transferred from invesco to NW, but he would have looked at the fundamentals before making his decision. He would not have been able to buy this number of shares on the open market.
