As I see it is, Kerisdale say that Prothena could fall as much as 80%. It's 16% of Wpct so that could account for a fall of about 12p of the trusts value. If they're right of course.

Hi Spiikeyj, have you read the Citywire article "hedge fund attacks Woodford Patient's top holding". It seemed quite compelling to me.

Fair comment mishmos. But the fact that they have not been more forthcoming will obviously bee seen in a negative light. If you had to make a statement about the dividend and you weren't confident, isn't this what you might say?

I think the company has made its position as clear as it can on the dividend. It will be paid from free cash flow after 2018. They have to wait and see how much this is nearer that time!

I believe the CEO signalling a potential dividend cut is due to underperformance. Neil Woodfords reasons for selling in May makes interesting reading. He anticipated problems that appear to be unfolding.

Yes he certainly wanted the company broken up but, but also said "now makes me less convinced that Glaxo's dividend is sustainable". The recent statement from the company could be interpreted as confirming Woodfords concern.

Neil Woodford sold all his holding in GSK in early May. One of the reasons was his concern over the sustainability of the dividend!

LordAdam, thanks for you opinion. But with the amount of claims Unknown They would need to be cautious so IMHO shareholders might want to factor this in to their expectations. Anyway, we only have to wait a few days to find out.

I have concerns about this. How can they pay a special dividend, when they don't know the full extent of the claims from the recent disasters! It also appears to me that the statement made by the CEO "the estimate falls within the company's modelled loss ranges for these types of catastrophe events" is not relating to special dividend, but a reassurance to their ability to survive such an occurance.

I would suggest that where the price has been is of little relevance. Does it look like a good business? Does it have plans for expansion that look viable? If you can answer yes to these questions then it is likely that the share price will rise. I have invested here.

The motley fool have made some comment on this stock.. I seem to remember some concern over the valuation at the time, which was contrary to Neil Woodford's opinion.

Maybe just be private investors selling, seeing what has recently happened to another Woodford stock ALM which was being sold short by a hedge fund
