Cmc what information do you have to make this remark?
Seems a premature statement to me. If that opportunity arises and it's the result of disappointing news, I'd try to assess the situation based on the news before making a decision.
But, my purchase of 28,959 shares appears as a sell.
On all the shares I buy. I accept that some, particularly aim listed shares are volatile. I have no concerns with the immediate price movements, other than to consider wether it may offer me a buying opportunity. If price drops were going to make me feel regrettable I wouldn't buy these sort of shares. cmc you need to consider if you personality is suitable for this kind of investment. Success, if it comes, may take many years!
A good buying opportunity?
They may avoid a big drop in the share price if the results are not good. BUT, if the results are good what price would they pay to get back in, 12p 14p 16p? How would that judgement be made? We know Neil Woodford considers 10p a price he is prepared to pay, this provides me with a guide.
In the share price is very difficult. That's why investors like Neil Woodford and Warren Buffett are long term holders of company's they like
But the company's position hasn't changed, it's the same as when you bought it. I expect Neil Woodford has no concerns, he'll be hoping for continuing progress within the company, and not influenced by a price drop that's the result of a small number of private investors selling.
I think you need a longer time horizon. Do you think Neil Woodford is thinking of selling? What negative news have you heard since you bought these shares?
But little movement in the price. Maybe some delayed buys will appear soon?
Are of little consequence to the long term investor. Focus on the progress the company will hopefully achieve. But, Rome wasn't built in a day, patience is will be needed.
But without fantastic news, the sp is likely to retrace further
That's posible, if it does I'll be buying some more! Unless the drop is a result of bad news.
May shake a few weak investors out. I've topped up with a few more at 10.169.
These sort of price movements should be of little concern to the serious invester. OXP has a great potential but, it will take many years to achieve it. The share price will not go up in a straight line for sure!
I have no idea when we can expect news. But I understand Neil Woodford is very optimistic about the future of this company in the coming years. I try to adopt a similar approach, and make judgements over a longer time frame.
I see no reason for any concern. This is probably short term volatility, and given the shares performance in recent months, a retrace of this sort is always likely. Ultimately, the price will be determined by news.
I've taken some profit recently in case there's a retrace but still hold 80% of my holding. I expect to wait some years to see the potential though.
It wouldn't be necessary to actually buy to test the market. A dummy purchase would indicate the actual price for a potential purchaser. The quantity being purchased would also be important so a small purchase may be no indication of the price paid for a large buy
