The defence industry is now a licence to print money. Western (and Eastern) govts are throwing cash at defence like a drunken sailor on crack. With China eyeing Taiwan, and Russia prepping for the Suwalki Gap by rearming 12 times faster than all of Nato combined, the UK, EU, North America and Westernised Asia are about to spend trillions on drones, AI and other sectors of defence in the next 1-5 years. There is a mad scramble (and panic) to defend the realm. ALRT has picked a fantastic market to enter and grow. It's now a market with almost unlimited spending 💰

It's more like 1 in 3 brand-new car sales in the UK now being partly or fully paid for by the UK state. Motability is 20%, then there's another 5-15% of business, fleet and private EV buyers on top being subsidised with free taxpayer cash for direct subsidies, lowered BiK tax, nearly-free VED, and so on. Know someone who got £30k of free cash (subsidy) to purchase a brand-new Tesla, it was effectively half-price. Few realise (or understand) how far the UK car industry has declined, and what's left of it is propped up by the state. We're looking more and more like the USSR and East Germany with every passing decade.

The greedy UK state is a vampire squid, wrapping its blood funnel around the face of humanity. It's all but exhausted the consumption of active money (like wages), and is now moving onto passive money (like your family savings). Tax creep is a real thing. It never goes down. Tax only goes up.

The GBP £ (5.2%) overtook the JPY ¥ (5.1%) as the world's no.3 reserve currency among central banks and investors globally in H1 2025. Dollar is no.1, Euro is no.2. The pound is way ahead of the RMB, SFR, etc. A rare spot of healthy economic news. Surprised there has been so little news coverage on it.

Yup, it's not hard to see what's coming here. COR funding was sorted in early June. A COR director then bought 1 billion COR shares in late June. Peel Hunt, a major SME investment bank, then bought 13% of COR in early July. Step by step, you can see the jigsaw pieces slotting into place. Nobody buys a billion shares, and 1/8 of a whole company, in one go for fun 😉

Have posted before, most people don't realise (or understand) that we've moved into a post-capitalist economy in the 2020s. We're now in a state-dominated, Marxist dependency. The UK state is tightening its grip on everything we do -- everything. The creep of the state is here and now. From supermarket shelves to face recognition to social media hurty words to ISA capital controls, the state is wrapping its tentacles tighter and tighter and tighter around all British people, no exceptions. It is quite astonishing how few people know, realise, or understand, what is happening. Good on the LLOY CEO for having the guts to speak up.

The Guardian is reporting today that 23 million Brits may be due compensation for DCA car-loan mis-selling. If they all claim (or receive) an average compo of £2k per person, that's a £40-50b bill for Lloyds and others right there. In recent weeks, there has been a steady but noticeable uptick in DCA cost estimates. A senior FCA lawyer pegged the cost at £50b. A ratings agency reckons nearly £40b. The drip-drip of these higher estimates into the mainstream media suggests, to me, that the industry is being softened up for a big bill in the coming weeks...

The topic has been analysed to death on here for years. Everyone is just sitting tight and waiting for the final FCA ruling and their final number. Some estimates park the industrywide "fine" for DCA car-loan mis-selling as low as £0-5b, while one source recently pegged it at £50-60b and bigger than PPI (mortgage mis-selling). Obviously, the bigger the fine, the further LLOY will fall, and vice versa. Just gotta sit tight and wait 👍

Yup, it was absurd political theatre. You're supposed to believe they voted out a (tiny) £5b welfare decrease, which will now cause a (huge) £10-40b tax increase. It's beyond preposterous. Labour is mugging everyone off.

Whether it's Red Reeves, or any other Labour apparatchik, in charge for the 2025 Budget, we've all got yet more horrific tax rises on the way for 2026. Fuel tax, council tax, income tax, wealth tax, bank tax, you name it, there's more and more to come. The Labour Party is out there, it can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with, it doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear, and it absolutely will not stop, ever.
