Like all UK service industries, a handful of banks are well managed, while the rest are some kind of joke. If you're with the best, like First Direct or Starling, online banking is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you're with the worst, such as TSB or BOS, most of the legacy highstreet banks, it's like pulling teeth. Lloyds's online banking is a bit slow and clunky. Not the worst, but defo not the best.

As for highstreet bank branches. Their usage has collapsed by -90% this century, so their highstreet footprint will have to adjust -90% accordingly. It's a post-bank world out there.

Can't believe folks fell for yet another pump-and-dump here! They keep doing the same pattern over and over again.

It's amazing that so many people still can't grasp what has happened, is happening, and will happen! Wall Street profit margins, right now, today, are at their highest ever level in all of history. And they're leaping higher into 2027 and beyond. Wave after wave of tech booms in the past 50 years, since the 1970s, from the PC to the Web to the smartphone to AI to robots, to quantum to PQC to string-level compute in the next 25 years, have supercharged (and will supercharge) US corporate profit margins. AI hasn't just popped up from nowhere -- it's a continuation of a half-century tech evolution (revolution). Quite astonishing that so many folks still struggle to grasp that change!

British commentators have been saying that for the past decade, as Nvidia and Wall Street keep on climbing up and up into the trillions and tens of trillions. Meanwhile, the London stockmarket is dying on its arse, trapped in a perma-doomloop of declinist misery and depressive downtalk. ARM is always the prime example. Struggled to get even a tiny £20b valuation in London. Listed in NY, and it's now approaching half-a-trillion dollars.

It claims to be a SPAC, looking at fintech investment. Be interesting to see if it pops up in any weekend newspaper reports or tips.

Nvidia is now $5T, and bigger than the entire UK economy of 80m people. Britain has never built even a $1T company. America makes them for fun.

The Dow is a 130 years old today, and still the world's premier stockmarket.

We have entered a post-car, post-work age. Private transport is gradually being eradicated by the state. Car tax in the thousands, unfixed potholes, ULEZ zones, "speed" cameras, the criminalisation of accidents, upcoming pay-per-mile surveillance, upcoming tolls, they're all designed to make the private vehicle unaffordable, unpleasant, or unusable. Meanwhile, nobody is "working" from home. They're mostly watching Netflix, walking the dog, sunbathing in the garden, or raiding the fridge 👍

The absurd 40% spread here makes this un-investable. The stupid spreads, like this, are killing the UK stockmarket.

The marketing and PR for this have been a flop. There's no viral frenzy on social media. No dinosaur handbag memes on Insta. No Rolex bros hyping it up on TikTok. No Kim Kardashian tweets that she wants a T-Rex handbag for her birthday. Nobody is talking about it at work in the office kitchen. It's been a flop.

Motorhome Murrell will do a few token weeks in the slammer, and then quietly get released. Wait and see. Wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be some kind of informal "plea deal" behind the scenes. The corruption in Scotland politics is way way worse than people realise.

Yes, the US now is like a separate planet. They have immense wealth that we in the UK (and Europe) can only dream of. Nvidia -- just one company, run by one man sitting behind a desk in California -- is bigger than the entire England, Scotland, Wales, NI, IoM, Channel Islands, and Ireland economies combined! It's beyond staggering how far we have fallen behind America this century.

Labour has taken the UK back to the 1970s, with an orgy of neo-Soviet policy. Many on here predicted it, and saw it coming. Protect your assets now, while you still can.

Looks like the (hugely successful) NCYF portfolio manager, Ian Francis, is finally retiring within the next 6-12 months, probably in H1 2027. Would expect the NCYF share price to soften from here, until the new boy (Darren Toner) can prove his spurs.

Any decent share platform sells gilts (and T-bills), nowadays, such as II. The T56 gilt will currently pay you 5.7% net and taxfree for 30 years. (As long as Labour don't bankrupt the nation).

Gilt yields are fantastic if you want the UK state to pay you guaranteed 6% net and taxfree for the next 25 years 👍

Looks like the FTSE 100 could tumble a 100 points tomorrow. UK stockmarket has suddenly turned very bearish.

As Gray1 says, the only sticking point is the removal of Iran's 440kg of highly enriched 60% uranium, enough to make 9 nukes within 10-30 days. Until that happens, the war and negotiations will continue yo-yoing back and forth. The "best" solution is to let Russia remove it. Store it in Siberia. Iran has already lost its plutonium capability, due to US-Israel attacks on the heavy-water plants. Just the uranium stuff left to fix 👍
