The question I ask myself is that with the current SP, if I was offered the chance to take up a placing at just over 500p, when on the market I could buy it at 475p a couple of days ago? no id want it at 450p

cant help but think someone was just made a big sale to protect their losses before this placing

Could be a disaster for metro bank if the SP drops way below sub 500!

and at 531p with a high of 600p some traders will now be running for cover!

Im absolutely convinced the shorts will wrok this back down to 475, possibly sub 475, before the placing. Only my opinion

if there's no support at 550 this is heading back to 500 quicker than I thought!

Pearls Im only comparing it to Debenhams in terms of the spikes we can expect to see with the shorts in play over the next few weeks. Its a totally different game in play here revolving around the placing compared to Debenhams catastrophic debt pile. At the moment everyone wants to see this share stay low: the shorts and the institutional investors who will make a killing on the discounted shares and then watch them fly once the short position closes. Money printing press!

Unfortunately marineville what the shorters know is that similar to Debenhams the board will give us bugger all information until the end of June. you can look forward to speculative press articles over the next few weeks which will push the sp up and down feeding the profits on the shorts. I will be buying in at sub 500

475 on que. the rights issue is going to make the uptake a fortune when the short sellers release their grip. just think if someone would have offered you metro bank shares at 475 a month ago you would have bitten their hand off. amazing the control and fear short selling spreads!!!!

I agree pokerchips, this share has held up better than expected. Ive bought in again. this share is always a rollercoaster and along with recent past history I expect this to drive towards 500 plus in the next few months

I will be buying again at 500 or sub 500. when the bounce does come back its going to come with some force

good points jackhammers. I only see the shorts in play on this share short term, as I said in my previous posts medium term I believe the share will recover

just to clarify as well, I think anyone would be crazy to sell right now as within the medium term I see this share recovering, but in the short term the shorts will keep creating spikes as they did with Debenhams. they have definitely taken the pressure off the stock today, so it looks like a rise will gather steam before another drop
