Just fine-tuning : Octopus hold just under 6% at 25.3m shares. This is progressing nicely with sustained momentum and lots of horizon events to maintain it rather than the spike-and-drop so often seen with other shares. A good progressive incline indicating growth and prospects is the way ahead. I think we will now continue to break the glass ceiling on the strength of the umbrella of businesses.

The future on all counts looks exceptional. TPG will be most vulnerable to a takeover just as the MoD contracts are signed as they will give 8 years earnings visibility. I do hope that shares are not being mopped up by a predator as I truly believe that we have a substantial British company in the making here, embracing all that is cutting edge in its fields. The higher and more consistent the rise the better as it helps to secure a strong independent future. I want TPG to be the central lead of that growth, not absorbed by a bigger player. The outlook here is superb IMO now that we have focused on intellectual property and strengths.

Excellent on all counts for a re-rate on prospects. Look at the perfect balance between buys and sells which, combined with big increase in volume, is a perfect indicator of transition from the cash-hungry R+D phase to cash-generative growth. Stale sellers are being mopped up by numerous takers buying into the TP Group as a niche IP-rich engineering business with good earnings visibility. The momentum is strong and should continue to build as many holders begin to realise that a new dawn could see their investment give excellent long-term returns and dividends. Keep hold. Do the research and you will uncover just how much the active IP in here is worth and how it is applicable to a huge number of industries. Growth is currently focused on submarine environmental control, niche engineering, nuclear and micro-turbine power generation. It is quite ironic that one of the biggest earning potential areas for TP historically was oil and gas........and that is not even being taken into the equation yet.........sit tight. Given 12-24 months your 34p should easily be surpassed IMO.

£100m MCap in the making and the horizon is a lot closer than it looks. Do the research, look closely at the technical capabilities across the board and look at the quality of clients. So much 'high barrier to entry' tech here with long-standing and 'sticky' contracts in play.

Re-rating on actual and prospective value here. TP Group [as I have maintained] is hugely undervalued. It is gearing up on so many fronts for blue chip clients and has cross-selling capabilities into atmosphere control, nuclear and micro-power generation. This has transformed from R+D intensive into a real peach of a tier 2 tech-advanced player. Expect a lot of upside still to come as contracts roll in starting with MoD confirmation anytime. Top markes to the BoD who have placed TPG in the mainstream for future growth.

The nice thing about the MoD submarine and marine control system contracts is that they are embedded and 'sticky' hence the fact that TP group is the 'sole negotiator' in these two contracts worth around £50m. Once signed off, they give fantastic visibility of 'base earnings' for an 8 year horizon. Add in all the other specialised and niche engineering prospects and this looks very undervalued on an IP library basis. In my mind it must gap jump once the ink is on the contracts as there are bound to be predators in the wings [likes of BAe/Spirax/GE] wanting the technology and secure earnings stream. I want the price higher now to deter the interest as the management are doing very well as an independent thank-you. This is a little gem of a tuck-away for growth and divis when appropriate.

Pleased to oblige and agree with your comments entirely. The TP Group website [of which I enclose the shareholder info] is a mine of info on just how good the niche skills and IP are.

I'm surprised that the super little deal announced this week didn't get more coverage. Shows that we are just 'below the radar' of most instos - at present. We should, however, start to attract interest from newspaper researchers etc as we have popped above the standard floor of £25m MCap. Our cash balance still stands at c £8m having paid the £1.25m initial payment for the 2 businesses this week, and that will bring in £0.5m profits this coming year plus economies of scale plus cross-selling. The MoD contracts should be signed off within the next 12 weeks as the April budgets are set and that should help confirm the upward trend. I'm surprised that no value is being attributed to the rise in the oil price as TP has good elasticity in the O+G arena. It has excellent repair and maintenance contracts in place to support it's presence but also has the means and flexibility to accomodate more work as the sector recovers. Add in the recent GE 'toe in the water' contract plus nuclear capability and it starts to look very good. Add in the IP protected gas reduction power generation in the USA and unlimited applications of the marine atmosphere-control technology and you start to see just how undervalued TPG actually is at a mere £28m MCap. This really does have the capacity to gap-jump and 'surprise' on many levels.

The market will soon wake up to the quality of both operations and earnings here. This is a gem of a purchase for only £1.25m up front and brings on £0.5m profits, £0.8m assets, existing management and complementary businesses at a P/E of below 4. Do the maths. Great buy.

This is a really good use of some of the cash and brings on board complementary technology. Good deal for benefits of critical mass and cross-selling IMO. TP Group is building a very stable high-tech engineering business in niche areas of defence, precision, chemical and nuclear. Should get nicely onto the radar of the instos as it grows. Sound and competent management, quality contracts and solid IP.

Thats a chunky half million delayed buy at 6.375p! £32k is a real vote of confidence.......or, as Sis says, a big buyer or predator in the wings....

So much IP, £9.2m cash in the bank, no debt, big Blue chip clients plus MoD, unique position in submarine atmosphere control capabilities with huge range of cross-over apps, 'sticky' revenue stream.......etc etc. TPG undoubtedly now has the capacity to go-it-alone, but for the life of me I cannot see this kind of tech going unnoticed by a bigger player UK or Stateside. It is an absolute peach of an add-on for a 'big' player for the tech alone. Got to see 10p minimum here in intrinsic value should it go into play.

Excellent outlook and yet not hitting the radar...yet. Both Cenkos and Edison have noted prospects..........TP Group continues its evolution from a cash-hungry research and development house to a Tier 2 specialised services and engineering company. The increased maturity allows us to apply a developed view of fair value with a more specific peer group SOP combined with a DCF. It currently returns 9.11p, implying significant potential for investors. That implies almost 50% upside and the company has £9.2m in cash, over a third of its MCap.

Agreed. Let's use the £9m cash wisely and continue to grow the business. It's developing nicely now and it's IP has lots of applications. A good earnings-enhancing hi-tech add-on would be sensible. I would be happy to wait another 12 months for a maiden divi. TP Group is growing at a nice steady sustainable pace, gaining recognition from more sizeable players like GE.

Certainly looks like Hardide is on someone's shopping list.....hardly surprising given the proximity of ban on chrome plating, excellent IP and multiple horizon events.

I think my post from 13th December summed it up nicely. We are seeing events unfolding towards the ban of chrome plating and the realisation that HDD has excellent IP and prospects. Right time - Right place.
