Making Methanol from green hydrogen consumes carbon dioxide, so is about neutral.

CPH2 has lesser requirement for water purity?

Methanol is easier to transport in bulk over large distances.

Bilboburgler, my impression is that JRM and the Conservative party generally prefer the option of a nuclear powered future. In which case excess off peak capacity may be used to produce hydrogen for heavy industrial "hard to abate" purposes. Given the waste heat can be utilised to use SOFC electrolysis at elevated termperature to give higher efficiency, this would appear bad news for ITM. Your thoughts?
