I don't have level 2 but as I understand it when you ask for a quote your platform obtains the best price for you from the selection of MM's they have access to.
I guess it is not beyond all possibility that at the time you requested the quote the only non-NT response for that order level was one MM at 26.9 so that is what you were quoted. When you went beyond 35000 (which is above the market size of 30000) a further probe returned another MM that was willing to provide the higher figure.
The question that would be good to know the answer to is that if an MM is quoting say 20,000 shares can they place a restriction on that sale on the system, i.e. 20,000 no lower, or a minimum of 10,000 no lower etc? Or if you quote 20,000 you have to accept any order from 1 - 20,000?
