Tow the Atherstone up there and fit it out for accommodation. About time they found a use for it. :)

As regards comments regarding the competency of the Scrutiny Committee. Well, there are always going to be those that may have more experience and knowledge in this us specific area and there will always be those that step up and get involved in local council issues and meetings. The councill members can't always be experts in every given situation. Maybe those that think the board needs a bit more knowledge on the subject may want to put themselves forward to advise the council rather than moaning from the sidelines. I think the council recognised some of this shortfall and may have taken steps to fill that gap. Had to leave site (and pc) so haven't scrutinised the list of the next meeting against the last one to see if any changes have been made. Looked like the usual suspects on a quick glance,though.

Ignoring all but LSE's first post, if you expand and read the "About" panel on the left hand side of the FB page, this was the whole premise of the Air and Sea Links page from the outset. I posted this months ago, but here is the initial part for those that don't do facebook.

We are here to provide options and solution's 'if required' that DO NOT need access to funding from the LUF (level up funding) in order to proceed.

Not sure what the ratio is between money spent by the company and money received as European grants and the like. But besides all those "milestones" achieved it's still seems a lot of money for so little to physically show for it. About half a mil went on land purchases and I'm sure that all those consultants didn't come cheep, eh? ;) Especially when they hung around to end up heading up the company. And it now appears, just to make real thier own personal dream of running and opperating a ferry company. Wow, what a story so far.

Off the top of my head, was going to say about £15m had been spent so far. There was also a payment to a previous partner of several 100k on first gas. There was mention of that amount being used as part of any negotiations with any JV agreements. On phone so no access to notes atm.

Well you certainly seem to have a hard on for Broomtree, Marco. lol Don't think it has not gone unnoitced that in your short existence from your very first post, pretty much all of your posts so far have referencd him in some way. Have wondered myself if you yourself were not a reincarnation of a former FD or someone else withan axe to grind using a spare account. Fwiw, I was not in any way mocking him and certainly not inciting others to do so.

What is perplexing, BT, is to know for sure what kind of response you were actually looking for with the opening post. Seems that anything other than Caravan's "Yes Broom tree " was not going to good enough. They do say misery loves company. Did you just need everyone to agree with you about how utterly terrible it all is? Being kept in the dark. No updates when you would have ordinarily expected one? No details on contract values! Etc.etc... Well, I believe that is what constitutes for normal around here. :) Not that time served should count for anything but I'm thinking that over the years i've done my fair share of critical. Probably overdone it and thought it was well deserved at times. TBH, at times it was. lol. So yeah, I've asked the awkward questions, pointed out the blindingly obvious and have certainly gone against the flow of sentiment at times. Directed at both the company and the BoD. And I'm not so dumb as to not realise, much to the annoyance of some, at times. lol. Word to the wise, poeple don't like being told that maybe they got it wrong. It kind of rubs them up the wrong way. Even when it turns out they did. ;) So I don't know why you should expect any kind of different reaction, tbh. It's been noticeable that for a while now you seem to have done little else but accentuate and emphasize any and all the negatives you can come up with. If you continually pure scorn, at the very least expect some degree of pushback. If you don't want your "critical thinking" expanded upon or interpreted by others who may have their own opinions, maybe a free for all messaging board is the wrong place to be giving a sermon or to monologue. Can guarantee some will never see any degree of thinking involved and only the critical side. And where money is at stake it can really skew with people perception.

Unknowns aside, I'm 100% certain I've made my own descision based on what we actually do know. Guess it will be 50/50 as to if it's the right one or not. If it turns out I'm wrong or if more info is presented then I'll change my mind and do the opposite. Re-running what we don't know doesn't change anything and dosen't inform anybody of anything new. Tell me something I don't know. :)

Putting Mr Poots notions to one side, the only thing that has not changed in countless millenia is the geology. That's been a given since the inception of the project. Hope it's not as long to ge it to a conclusion.

I think if I had to choose between the two, I would watch it over and over again rather that five minutes of that Villa Vie Odyssey video again. :)

If you have a look on the Isles of Scilly Scrutiny Committee video @ 1:49:00 there is a picture of what they are calling the Samson. You can then compare it to the images of the landing craft on Marine Traffic. I think that even allowing for the paint job, which could be easily done on Photoshop if it hasn't been already, there are definite differences. They have had these landing craft in to Appledore for maintenance before so nothing new there. What I couldn't determine is any of background details in the video to say if that shot was taken near Appledore recently.
