One thing I have noticed as an ev driver, on the rare occasion that we have to use the charging network, I am noticing it becoming increasingly busy. Look out for Charge Rage hitting headlines over the next few years I reckon!

from the quick searches I have done, I found the following figures.
In 2010 we passed the 1 Billion total vehicle milestone. So we could probably safely asume there are at least 10% more on the road now.
In 2017 1.9 million electric vehicles were sold, but that includes phevs and priuses etc. I saw a figure stating a ratio of 1 in 3 electric cars sold are pure bevs.
So roughly 600,000.
So no, at the end of 2017 probably not, but with the model 3 production ramping up, and the sales figures from China I would say we will be getting there this year.

James, yes what you say is absolutely true. However, in a managed accoint you would struggle to be 60% down! The last week has been brilliant, but still some way to go before I am back in the blue. When I wrote my message it didnt look like we were moving very fast, but we seem to be moving now. Long may it continue

You could argue that the fall in share orice was largely driven by small private investors. I dont recall any RNS stating any institutional investirs had sold (other than kdnc).
Lets hope the money that has been spent has gone towards the start of the mine and plant construction.
Although it seems like a lot of money, I can only compare it to sxx of which I follow, and compared to their recent rns stating they need an extra 1/2 billion, it seems like a pittance!

I thought that is what market makers were for. There can’t be a seller for every buyer in the short term otherwise there would never be any dealing done, especially on illiquid shares like this. Sell to mm’s. they hold them. Sell them at slightly higher price. The spread. More liquid the share. Lower the spread. Obviously if there are more sellers than buyers over the course of a longer period then the price will go down.

Well if they are sells, they got a good price as most are showing as buys.

What I find interesting is we were allowed to drawdown the first $25 million from RK finance. Would they have let us if they were worried about the project not getting completed?

@dougal. The “Tesla Deal” was instigated by David Lenigas and was not a good deal. $6000 a ton if I remember correctly was the price we were supposedly selling it to them for. The SLPP was a joint venture between BCN and REM. The general feeling was BCN were never happy about it and always maintained that the lithium would be sold to the asian market. This has been proven, as all production has been sold to Hanwa.
That deal was dependant on the SLPP reaching certain milestones and it was not Tesla who pulled out, it was the SLPP, after Lenigas had left REM and the SLPP probably realised what a rubbish deal it was.
The current funding situation is worrying, and there must have been a cock up somewhere, not that we will ever find out exactly what. But we have got funds to start, and a lot of the money in place. Lets wait and see what the update in a couple of weeks time has to offer. (On a side note, just look at sxx with there recent update. They are already half a billion over budget and have barely started digging yet. Raising £100 million Doesnt seem like a lot of money to raise to me in the scheme of things.)

I wander if they have issued these options knowing news is round the corner and this is the last opportunity for cheap shares.

It would be interesting to know if Hanwa have supply agreements in place with other producers, or more to the point, have supply agreements to increase their supply, or if they are relying on BCN to come up with the goods to feed increased demands in the future. It would be great for them to stump up more money, but I suppose it deoends on how much they need us.

I would agree that the reported buy and sell prices see to have very little to do with price direction, it was my understanding that Market Makers do hold shares, and are meant to enable you to be able to trade in shares up to the ems. 3000 in the case of BCN. This must be very important in a relatively illiquid share like many aim companies. There cant be a buyer for every seller at the same time, unlike say a ftse 100 company where thousands of trades are done in a day (hence the tight spreads)The fact the so few shares are traded means the spread is generally higher which is here the mms can still make their money.
Or I could be way out, but would love somebody more enlightened to explain more.

The demand is outstripping supply. Nissan now make a 40kwh battery for their little van, which is perfect for my work. Spoke to a dealer yesterday and was told the delivery date is May next year of I bought one today!
Get those battery factories ramped up guys!

I personally think that the most encouraging thing is the £25 million advance from RK Finance.
Surely those guys wouod have stopped the funding if they thought there were issues regarding raising the rest of the money.
