George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Can anyone please explain why EMH market cap is now higher than BCN? I’m not saying EMH is not worth it, but they have no offtake agreements, funding to build the mine not sorted?
What is going on here? Have we given too much away to gangfeng?
I’m presuming that the majority of shares were sold by the institution’s that bought the placing shares? Hence the drop in share price. Judging by the volume since the placing, a huge amount of money has changed hands, so it would be safe to assume a lot of shares got dumped, hence the drop.
It will be safe to assume that Gangfeng will not be selling any of their existing shares, or the newly created ones. Therefore I would expect the share price to remain stable.
Hopefully by the time the shares are issued some more progress on the building I of the mine will have been made to justify the company’s increased market cap due to the enlarged number of shares.
Not sure it is trading at a 30% discount to emh? Our market cap is £140 million, theirs is £136. But I fully agree with the sentiment. I would expect bcn to be trading at multiples of emh. And that is nothing against emh, but as far as I know, they don’t even have any offtake agreements yet. Never mind funding in place.
Perfect time to buy some shares then! It won’t be at 50p if the nebuliser and the drugs work.
If they were sells surely they would have been offered a really bad price. Not higher than the mid price.
Yes, we are seeing this already. China are already doing something, I think it’s like a scrap page scheme for Beijing. 100,000 new energy vehicles are being encouraged with grants if you scrap your old car. Never waste a good crises!
Joe Lowry on Twitter saying Ganfeng is almost back to full production just as livent and orocorbre have to shut down.
Hopefully better times coming.
Alternative view 2.
Who is going to want to invest in new oil projects when it is only worth $20 a barrel. Especially when it is not going to be needed in ten years time.
Roll on clean energy. The world is going to be a very different place in a few years.
Glad to hear the Chinese are back at work. Get your fingers out!

This article just about sums it all up. At some point there has to be a massive explosion in lithium investment. If all current planned giga factories come online by 2025, 1.9 million tonnes of lithium required. Current worldwide production, 300,000 tonnes. Yet zero investment.
Benchmark intelligence saying they expect a huge price spike this year in lithium, and interestingly, joe lowry agreeing with them on twitter, where as in his podcast late last year he expected lithium prices to stay subdued this year. Quote from them, “coming soon, 3 x spot prices”.
This has got to be the most frustrating share ever! Hang in there!
Well it looks like BCN isn’t immune to the corona virus panic that is affecting the stock markets. And no reason it should be I suppose. Lets just hope that we get a really positive update on sonora when they publish the results. And lets hope it comes soon!
Somebody else wants the other 50%, who we are happy to work with?
Not quite! Rapid chargers use direct current, which charges the battery directly. They generally run at 400 v dc, so current will be lower. That uses a chademo, ccs, or tesla connection. Its a pretty hefty plug, especially the chademo design.
If you want to charge from home, you use an alternating current, (the type which our mains uses in our houses), which the cars internal battery charger then converts to direct current. Usually the cars internal chargers are anywhere from 3.3 kw up to around 11kw. If you wanted to charge much faster than that, You would start to be looking at a 3 phase connection. But there really is no need.
No, he means 150kw. Tesla model 3 can charge at 250kw!
*the rest of the finance sorted
Is the perfect storm brewing for us? News due on Zinnwald and the final plans for Sonora. Surely we can get tye rest if the finance sorted! The world waking up to ev’s. Tesla flying (Elon tweeted a few hours ago about giga 5 in Texas), Panasonic and Toyota doing a battery deal (have Toyota seen the light?)
Will Tesla get into mining? Elon has already said he cant build enough cars as hasn't got the batteries. I would just love an rns stating Tesla were getting involved! Maybe too much wishful thinking.

Jim Cramer calls the end of fossil fuels companies. Describes them as the equivalent of tobacco companies. I am sure this guy has being slating Tesla for years, and late last year came round and started talking about them positively.
Hopefully BCN is going to be an overnight success story 10 years in the making! If all goes to plan, we will certainly be injecting Lithium into a market that is desperate for the stuff.
And with other companies going bankrupt, projects being mothballed and a general lack of investment, it seems pretty obvious to me that the price is going to be more than $11,000 a ton in 2022.
Really wish I had spelt article right now this thread has carried on!
This article talks about 90 million hectares. But if you visit website, the sonora project is set over only 100,000 hectares. I know we own a huge amount more, which haven't been granted mining licenses, but they are nothing to With the current pfs.
I remember Kiran Mozaria from kdnc talking about it years ago, as they own 30% of the largest area, and he said that the area they already had was so huge, that they hadnt got round to applying for the licences, but it would not be a problem. This was when kdnc were a large shareholder. I can see it might be a problem now!
I think the article is talking about the whole area we have rights to, which probably is excessive, given the size of the tiny area we have based current operations on.

Says here that members of the government have met with Gangfeng to discuss them settling and investing there.
Seems like Chinese whispers to me. A bit like last year when it was all over Twitter that a placing had been done at 10p. Looks like Sonora is finally getting some attention.
