Also, it was said in the Howard Klein, or sd mores interview this week (or maybe another one, there have been so many!) that basically the banks and investment funds are not going to get the required investment into the lithium juniors as it doesn’t follow their models, and it is too long term for them. So the downstream consumers are going to have to come up with the money if they want the lithium (be that Auto Manufactures, Energy Companies or Metal and chemical suppliers) Hanwa potentially investing fits neatly into what all the professional commentators/advisers are saying. Have Hanwa been advised that if they want lithium they are going to have to get their hand in their pocket and make it happen?

Wow. Just logged on after saying I wouldn’t look in tonight! Glad I did now. Many thanks for finding and sharing the info. I said last week could the delayed production dates be causing Hanwa issues? Have they promised their clients all the lithium they have bought of us, and now they are getting worried? I think it was mentioned by another poster that there is now a 35,000 ton (tonne?) hole in the world market now we are two years late. I responded by saying it could cause Hanwa to do something rash, either get the materials from elsewhere, but as we know, there is no “elsewhere”, unless you can process low grade spodumene. I can’t see Hanwa doing that as they are effectively a middle man. So the only other thing to do is try and help Bacanora out anyway they can. They also have a lot invested here, so that also gives them a huge incentive to make sure this project comes on stream. It will certainly be an exciting year. Something that has being lacking owning bcn stock for the last few years!

I like the way they waited until after the closing bell today. If they had released that info this morning, the share price might have risen more, and kdnc wouod have been able to sell their remaining shares at a higher price (assuming they have been selling today).

I am thinking a SOLG type movement. I remember that being at 10p, went down to a penny, then all the way back to 40p? I dont see any reason why Bacanora should not have a decent size market cap for the size of the project, and the fact that it will be selling one if the most sought after materials going in to the next decade.

On the face of it it would seem daft, but if the offer is way in excess of the current share price, and more inline with what this project is potentially worth, then what difference does it make to Mr Gonzales? I really cant see Secker and the board letting this go for a song when their share buy in prices are at multiples of todays share price. You would think they wouod want a significant return on their investment, and they know as well as we do what is just around the corner in terms of lithium demand.

What price did the board by the shares off kdnc for? 80p if I remember. Which was seen at the time as being a great deal for them and met with absolute derision over at kdnc! So can we assume that the boards own shareholding is at a far greater value than what the shareprice is today, so I presume that any talks of a sale will be at far higher prices than 80pish.
I wouod say the board are in a pretty strong bargaining position. While getting the funds together to build the mine might be taking a while, they have plenty of cash in the bank to keep them going for a long time.
Meanwhile, future long lithium supply just looks tighter and tighter.

Great to see this rise, but a long way to go for a lot of people yet. Only positive is that I got to lower my average a lot over the last few weeks. Never thought I would be doing that when I bought in to what I thought was the most stable boring aim share ever. The twenties is when the ev revolution really kicks off, it will take that long for car manufacturers to get everything in place for the big switch over. Hopefully BCN will be perfectly timed to supply an increasingly tightening lithium market. Because every other junior is going to struggle to get funding too. So where will the supply come from?

Or maybe black rocks new fund is buying? Maybe they sold knowing it would take the share price down, and also knowing they are setting up a fund specifically designed for the renewable energy market? Or not even as sinister as that, maybe they just had to a have a clear out of any stocks that would be better off in the new fund.

35 kt short then. A bigger hole. Will that cause them to do something rash? Only other large source at the moment is low grade spodumene coming out of Australia. Fine if you can process it like the Chinese do, but I don’t think that is Hanwas business. Or will they start throwing some serious money around to get their supply line sorted?

The other question is how desperate are Hanwa for their 17.5 kt? If production is a year later than anticipated, thats quite a hole in the market

Not sure why BCN share price dropping deserves a smiley face? Isnt BCN share price inextricably linked to KDNC?
Selling shares at these prices and the loan will never be repaid. Whats next an share EMH firesale?

I don’t think they are using the sale of BCN shares to pay for it though. Not enough interest left in bcn to pay the loan off. Haven’t had a good read of the rns as don’t have any interest in kdnc anymore, but it appears they will be issuing shares to pay for the new licenses. It seems as though bcn have them in checkmate. It was a long game of chess! But hopefully it will be over soon and bcn can crack on. It is a shame really as both companies could have been really successful.

Yes, I reas the same article the other day. They certainly seem confident to keep repeating the same statements regarding finance and timescales. Lets hope it turns into something so we can get a move on and start producing.
You would think Hanwa would be getting twitchy, as they have probably promised their customers they can supply the goods too. There is going to be one hell of a mighty sqeeze soon.

With hindsight yes they should have. BUT! I was a holder of kdnc then, and they didnt sell the shares because they wanted to. They needed the money to pay for loans and wages. And if they had have sold more, they couldnt have used the smoke and mirrors maths of saying they were selling the shares they bought years ago at a profit! Now they really are selling the shares bought at a pound at a loss.
BCN is frustratingly slow, but I am of the honest opinion that the world, (and that includes the bankers) really havent woken up yet to the amount of lithium that will be required.
Or they have and they need to shut down their investments in fossil fuels before they can allow lithium mines to be built. Show me one other lithium project that has come into operation. Even the big players are struggling to expand.
Other than shipping spodumene concentrate from aus to china, thats the only new supply thats coming online that I know of.
Its a shame kdnc is not only dumping the bcn shares and helping to further undermine the shareprice but also coming out with stupid comments about share issue prices at whatever price he “thought” they would be issued at. Brilliant move! Especially when he obviously knew they would have to sell more! Sooner kdnc is out the better imo.

He also says we have a strong shareholder base. What happened there!
