Edzi, why do you keep saying things like "the fund managers have voted with their feet" when you know what the circumstances were? Only Cannacord seems to have been selling down (but not out). The others have not sold because of JLP and some including the Bill gates fund have added fairly recently. To say that only a buyout will save us is rubbish. Delivering 10+ k tons of copper will do that and leave plenty of headroom for growth in the future. You may want a quick getout but not everyone does.

One factor working against us in the UK is the exchange rate which is making our dollar earnings worth less in sterling.

Anyone know, approximately of course, how a 1% rise in copper equates to what % rise to our bottom line?

Particularly the one mentioned i.e. antimony which is a crucial metal strategically in short supply as I mentioned. I notice that MILI (Military Metals on the Canadian Stock exchange) recently purchased historical resources in Slovakia dating back to soviet times and have mentioned the amount of the material that is contained within the waste from these mines. That must mean the metal is recoverable. The yanks are desperate to get their hands on the stuff. It's merely a thought. No point if it is too much trouble.

Obviously therefore there is nothing in our current metals portfolio that qualifies but it would be interesting to know if we have the technology to profitably extract these metals from waste dumps, perhaps from gold mines that may contain them, in the future. They are quite rare in the wast as China seems to have around 80% of the known antimony deposits.

Are there any military metals (antimony etc) which are contained in the waste that we currently process or which are within our processing capabilities? There may well be very significant demand for these materials over the next few years.

Sumo. There is no point in just concentrating on the major holders that have been selling. There must be numerous funds that have holdings of less than a notifiable amount that could have been selling and once Fidelity reached that level they also can be selling at any time without a notification. I doubt it is the entity that has just taken posession of the shares in exchange for waste.
