will eventually realise he is becoming a laughing stock as the leader of a totally incompetent nation that promises lots and delivers nothing. The only area where they do excel is accepting loans. However, a day is dawning when he will need to climb down from his " look at me " pedestal and start showing a return for all this investment.
I can well associate with how bcl42 is feeling as I believe he has been invested , like most of us, for a number of years and probably had planned for a reasonable return on the investmen much sooner than now. We have all been built up to expect imminent good news, then we get a RNS that provides more questions than answers. I know that initially, I was quite gutted to see that RNS and watch the value of my investment drop by a quarter. However, one thing I have learned over the 4/5 years I have been involved in this share is to read the RNS's several times. On the face of it, given the state of Tanesco, there is in my view some potential for greater involvement by the right Companies as Tanesco cannot seem to run itself professionally. There are a lot of big projects being developed that will need power, not least the SGR project. I think this could possibly be a cry for help. The fact we are associated with GE and Sepco could indeed be of benefit. Could be a case of right time right place. Could equally be a mile off in my thinking. Who knows at the moment?
The one thing that encourages me, is by looking at the 1 year range of the SP for Kibo The variation has been this way ever since I bought into the share. Now we are multi faceted, I have no doubt it will rise again in the future. The clever bit is to judge correctly when to sell a few and I admit I have missed the boat quite a few times by holding onto to every share I have ever bought. At the moment, whilst there is the POTENTIAL for greater expansion I will take the gamble and stick with it. I was always here for the long game anyway so you pay your money and take the chance. Best of luck on the ride.
at the discussions following LC's comments in today's RNS below.
"Our initial assessment of this latest tender process seems to indicate additional opportunity to expand the Company's participation in the development of the Tanzania energy sector and we will now urgently consult with our partners to ascertain the best course of action"
I see the word "EXPAND" as being more positive than negative. Being a half full type of person and having a significant investment in Kibo, I accept I am looking for the positives rather than any negatives.
I am as much in the dark as everyone else at the moment regarding the exact detail of what the tendering process involves but, one thing that's for sure, Tanesco is a mess. The current situation COULD be an ideal opportunity for an outside Energy expert to gain a foothold in Tanzania and Africa. Particularly at a time when China and the USA are both looking to get much more involved on the continent. Just a thought.
Just returned home and noticed JDW is back posting. Good to have him back as his contemporary research is valued. We are still missing Wimbo and YAki who also, in my opinion, always provided quality up to date information.. I bought into Kibo following my own research and was not influenced one Iota by anyone else. However, I will freely admit it was good to find this board and find like minded people who have also been members for several years now. I know that when times are a bit on the negative side, I can find some encouragement through the views and comments of like minded people. There are undoubtedly a few KNOBS on this board but they are significantly in the minority and based on their comments, obviously have an agenda. We know who they are and I would encourage people not to enter into dialogue with them so they will go elsewhere. These KNOBS have only been posting for a matter of months rather than years so are easy to identify. . So welcome back JDW and I look forward to you providing an interface between this board and the Twitter group.
Magafuli will be gone and a distant memory long before any energy is supplied by the Steigler Gorge proposal,
if indeed it ever gets off the ground. If Magafulli is looking to leave a legacy, it will need to be something much more contemporary. Let's face it, Africans place a tremendous importance on self image.and at the moment he has delivered nothing that is tangible. The SGR proposal is massive and due to go into operation in the next few years. It will be completed and in place years before any other major investment and it will need power to run it. If Magafulli does not provide this, his legacy is going to be there for all to see and at the moment, without a proper electricity supply, it is set for failure.
I think we all agree that Kibo is still flying under the radar at the moment. However, if the SML or PPA or both are announced in the near future, or if Magafulli makes an announcement as part of his tour of Mbeya, this could significantly increase interest from outside of our regular circle of friends. Kibo would want their website to be bang up to date to cater for any new interest. It could well be LC has a good idea about what is coming and has ensured the website is up to date and truly reflects an ambitious Energy Company.

Wonder if there could be a link to the visits to Rukwa and Mbeya?

For those who have not read it this could indeed be very significant.
Swifty this is my first ( and it will be my last ) actual direct response to one of your posts as I cannot be bothered wasting my valuable time chatting to fools. Kibo started out as a minor mining company with only a prospecting license. If you honestly believe that nothing has been achieved over the past 4 years then you are truly an idiot wrapped in a moron.
As stated above, this will be my first and last direct response. Hopefully, other members of the board will follow my lead and ignore you completely so you can go and play your juvenile games elsewhere.
of this company is truly massive. I absolutely and fully realise at this juncture it is purely potential however, can you imagine the interest in Kibo that will arrive if that SML/PPA/FC is achieved and both GE and Sepco are involved in all 3 of our projects. Many on this board have been here for 4+ years and now we are at a stage when that potential could be realised in a matter of weeks. Being one of those long term holders, I have never felt more confident. We have experienced dozens of RNS's in that 4 year period and looking back on them, each one has been a little piece of a jigsaw. In my opinion, today's Rns is a piece that makes the jigsaw look like the picture on the box.Good luck to all holders of Kibo shares.
If I remember, not so long ago, we were talking in terms of SML/PPA by end of Q2 and Financial Close by end of 2018.
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong on that. Having GE actively "assisting with future funding" there is still a distinct possibility that if the SML/PPA is signed off soon, we could still meet those original timelines.
Much of the negotiations regarding FC can still be undertaken and agreed in principal whilst waiting for the TG to sort themselves out. The FC element of this project could still happen expeditiously/ imminently/ soon or even within agreed timescales.
The electricity transmission lines are well under a way at significant cost. Currently no electricity supply for them.
The Tz government have spent a fortune on the SGR infrastructure. Currently no electricity supply for it.
The great Magafulli promise of industrialisation. Currently no extra electricity supply for it.
Our MCPP is the standout solution to the problem. If you take another look at that recent news article that mentioned the future possible electricity provision ( Stiegler Gorge, gas , MCPP etc ) our scheme is the ONLY immediate 1000 MW provision. I say immediate in comparison to the others.
The penny will eventually drop that the Steigler Gorge supply is a decade away, if indeed it ever happens. The next elections are not too far down the road and Magafulli is going to look a right Mega fool with bright new shiny trains sitting under brand new electricity pylons on brand new tracks with no power supply to run them..With the promise of industrialisation still being run by generators.
After all of the governments procrastinations I can see a sudden rush of activity in our direction. As Gillie so eloquently
reminds us on the back of his recent excellent musings, it is just a matter of patience.

Would be interesting to find out the purchase prices used in this agreement.
