Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Extra trucks and 24 hour working can only be a good thing for the future of the Company. It surely cannot be seen as negative in any shape or form and might actually help us with our tender application.
Well that is the most positive news we have had in years.
Drax. At the time of writing that RNS, nobody, including yourself, was aware of the changes that were about to hit Tanzania. I have absolutely no doubt that like myself, your vision of the future in Tz was based on the circumstances that existed at that time which were quite positive. Like myself, you probably bought more Kibo shares. The only difference between the more positive posters ( clappers as you call them ) and yourself is that we deal with reality and realise LC was not being dishonest in his advertising of Kibo’s potential. I fully accept that this advertising was probably
A little too enthusiastic at times however, the realist in me accepts as CEO, he is there to sell his Company. If things had gone the way most of us expected, we would have been producing electricity by now. None of us could have even dreamed the changes that were to come. So if you do still own shares in Kibo, it is your decision. You have had since 2015 to observe the turmoil in Tz and change that decision and you still can. You are at that crossroad where it is put up or shut up. As your post history is one of being a miserable old *** I hope you choose the latter option as I still see you making some money out of your Kibo shares. Eventually. Have a really nice day down there in Yorkshire.
It seems strange when you compare where we are today compared with Christmas Eve last year. We have a lot more irons in the fire and a number of applications just waiting for authorisation/decisions however, the SP is 60% lower. Even one positive piece of news will change sentiment completely and the SP will be back to a level where most of us can recoup our losses and regroup. If our tender application is sucessful then I think most of us will move into profit. We have waited this long, a few more months will undoubtedly inform us what the future holds for Kibo Energy. In the meanwhile, best wishes for the season and here is to a prosperous 2019.
I know we have slagged off Magafuli as not being in touch with reality regarding the timings of the Steigler Gorge Project. To a large degree, this criticism is warranted because we all know and engineering experts know for certain it is a physica, natural and practical impossibility to get that project up and running and delivering power in the next 4/5 years It is going to take a massive percentage of the Tz budget to sponsor the programme and other initiatives will need to be put on hold to pay for it. However, I do not think Magafuli is as daft as we are making him out and he must know he is going to need significant power well before the Gorge delivers it. I kow of no other project in Tz that is positioned to do this better than Kibo so maybe this tender process will not take as long as some of us believe. Tanesco certainly got the re-tender process back up and running in short time.
In my humble opinion if Kibo is successful in being granted the tender for the 300Mw contract, this will ignite the whole programme. It will send out very strong messages that coal to power is alive and kicking in Africa, it will provide a stepping stone for the Moz and Bots projects and will attract sponsorship from the likes of Sepco/GE. You cannot blame
Sepco/GE or anyone else for biding their time and waiting for the outcome of the tender process however, if the tender goes ahead it will surely light the blue touch paper.
I am not in any way being critical of LC as I believe he has done everything in his power to get this over the line. If you look at the various circumstances, over the past couple of years, that have caused the delays, I am sure most will agree they have been outside of the control of LC and the board. I am merely flagging up the fact that these are sensitive times and many shareholders are worried about their future plans. Communication at times like this are extremely important. Above everything. LC and the board need to show some empathy with shareholders and by sharing whatever news they can by means of updates would go a long way to achieving continued support. Without this communication, they will appear aloof and uncaring.
Hi mikemike. I am not expecting LC to give us details he does not have and i am absolutely certain he will let us know as soon as he gets any salient news. However, as the tenders were supposed to be opened immediately on the 7th Dec I am sure LC does know how many companies submitted tenders and he has at least some idea of what Tanesco are doing with them at the moment.
of any negative develpoments. We are at a stage where LC and ourselves can do nothing to improve the situation. We are totally at the behest of Governments and government departments. We have submitted all the relevant paperwork regarding licences and tenders so now it is a waiting game. I suppose It is only natural for people to panic when someone who alleges to be close to the source of reliable information, suddenly writes negative posts and says they have sold up. But this same individual refuses to expand further. If xplorealpha has genuine information and has sold up WHY is he bothered about his posts being deleted. He has nothing to lose by sharing his information with board members who he states have been colleagues over the past months.
The recent COP24 climate conference in Poland agreed a 2% reduction in carbon emissions over the coming years. Kibo is selling the principal of CLEAN COAL ENERGY which would provide energy at well below the agreed 2% levels. I find it hard to believe that countries with billions of tonnes of good quality coal are simply going to let it lie unused in the ground. If I am wrong then so be it. I only have myself and no one else to blame. The one thing LC can do over the next few days is provide a clear, honest and concise statement of what he knows to be fact at the moment. He must be closer to the source of informaton than xplorealpha and as close as anyone to the real story. He must be aware those shareholders who have supported him and paid his wages over the past several years are currently feeding on scraps of unverified information, rumour and speculation..
No Bcl you are not the only one to have hung on to every one of his tickets. Like you I have not sold any of my holding and might soon be promoted to Plonker 1 as I still firmly believe that my investment will eventually deliver a good return.
I take heart that people /companies with much more worldwide investment experience than myself have also bought into the dream. Whilst I understand where you are coming from re the content of the RNS 's, I genuinely believe that none of the delays are the fault of LC. I believe he has acted in good faith and he, like ourselves, are victims of circumstance. We have had 3 updates in the past week with today's being reasonably positive. I expect more in the coming week, each one being even more positive and building a return to profit.
With regard to the Sepco buy in, I am not in the least surprised they are waiting a bit longer before committing, Sepco are in exactly the same position as ourselves. They see the potential for a very lucrative investment opportunity being held back by Country politics and who can blame them for waiting for the situation becoming a bit clearer before throwing their money at it.
You will have noticed that none of the photos in the recent news updates show up to date photos af the actual site. The photos they used were of the Masinga Dam in Kenya which took 3 years to build but was a VERY much smaller project.
It is ok to report progress is going well however, seeing is believing.
On the other hand, there are certain posters on here where no comment is necessary. and Swifty is the best example of them all. I would be ashamed to put my name to that last post of his. His motive is so transparent and the content so immature and nonsensical it is beyond belief. I expect he will find the need to provide yet another immature response however, before he does, can I suggest he re-reads his last post and considers wether it is worth his while making an even bigger fool of himself.
Thanks Dsrt. I really do not get any satisfaction out of taking anyone to task on this board. Indeed, I realise like everyone else I am simply a guest on this site. I appreciate things are really slow at the moment and we are all frustrated. People are feeling a bit low given the poor SP at the moment. I just do not like the way certain individuals appear to use this situation to meet their own agendas and CONTINUALLY post negative comments. It is probablythe reason a lot of the previously well respected posters and researchers moved to the Twitter group. However, we still have some good people on this board and I for one would like them to stay here.
If as you say Lurker ( and his other cronies ) are also posting negativity on other boards it only goes to prove my point so I will continue to challenge them and their motives. As Gillie would say P.P and P. We will know soon enough if Kibo has a future in Tz.
