Am I the only one who thinks that, once the Covid dust has settled, there is going to be some consolidation in the pharma sector. I can see a few of these smaller, niche pharma companies like ODX getting snapped up by the big boys.

Omega is becoming a sitting duck for a takeover in my view because it already has a global product presence from Africa (HIV) to China (Food).

Even if you ignore the vast potential of ODX's covid play, you are still left with a quality small connected UK company with a growing global profile. What's not to like?

You can't lose here. Very strong buy.

The only way this goes above £1 on Monday is with the design freeze RNS. Failing that, I think (after the usual tree shake) mid to high 70s seems fair with a bit of volume.

Hope I'm wrong and it's higher but that's how I see it.

It's beginning to dawn on me that regardless of what happens with Coronavirus, Omega Diagnostics are on the up! They have a portfolio of approved, high quality products bought from around the world. They are very connected due to Covid outbreak and their profile has been raised significantly.

How long before one of the big pharma outfits comes sniffing around with their chequebook? Or even a venture capital fund?

Only roadblock I see here is our old friend Glencore. If they decide to play ball it's well and truly game-on. Sadly, no sign of that, yet.

Without Glen, this goes nowhere. However, things are changing in the world economy due to Covid19. Demand for what Glencore mines and sells has all but collapsed. Soon, they'll need to shore up their balance sheet and keep investors/stakeholders happy. This is when they may need to look seriously at the forgotten parts of their asset portfolio to release some cash. Cue Zanaga.

It's all very bizarre. A few days ago all the talk was of an antibody test for the masses. Now, nothing.

I wonder if they are still waiting for PHE to approve the home test kits before talking further about them?? Surely there would be HUGE demand amongst the public for a home testing kit (thumb prick).

Also, the 3,000 "home testing kits" that have already been sent out, are they the ODX kit?

All very confusing.

At Sturgeon's press conference earlier, anti-body testing was mentioned many, many times and trumpeted. In this press conference, it's almost as if they are scared to mention anti-body tests. Also, no mention of the UK-RTC effort of which Omega is a part of??

There's a mismatch here that puzzles me.

My other baby Zioc up by 16% today (300% in 2 weeks). Something definitely afoot there - huge news imminent.

But it's still absolute peanuts compared to it's true worth.

Lets not get too excited just yet. Better to wait for the REAL avalanche that we all know is coming.

Indeed, this is GAMECHANGING news for antibody testing.

It's just become much more significant than we even thought.

One thing that is becoming increasingly clear is that mass antibody testing is key to lifting lockdowns. That was re-enforced by Sturgeon and we may see Boris elaborate further at 5pm.
