I think so but why would an MoU be counterproductive? There is an awful lot we don’t know at the moment and it’s been very quiet news-wise for what seem an age…fingers crossed for good news soon

I think the MoU is key - clearly a delay because presumably there is much more to talk through and negotiations are still ongoing?

If the MoU is extended it must contain a little more detail…some of that detail could be interpreted as either green light or curtains. If it was a simple case of extending for another year then I would guess we know thing are unlikely to progress either way but the fact we have a delay might be very good news…or it might be that PC don’t want to commit…or it might signal a buyout is on the cards?

Read that last week, where is the other 70% coming from?

I doubt the GoB want to be tied up with litigation for the only mine ready to go.

Someone must have been building a stake and the price has definitely been held in the 6-7p range for months now, I really hope we find out more soon.

Great post JC. The BNP approved Phulbari so they know it’s a cornerstone of growth and would tick a lot of boxes. GCM getting stuck into it is isn’t going to happen but I think any buyout price is much lower, someone has to have been building a substantial holding over the past few months and I just can’t see us shareholders being that lucky! Despite the obvious value.

All good questions for the AGM if someone is kind enough to ask.

…maybe I’m being stupidly naive here. The GoB know that owner the license will make it a far easier sell. There must have been discussions about Phulbari between BNP, The interim Gov, Jamaat, etc? They don’t want the SP to dictate value and therefore could say anything they want to in the next couple of weeks, months in order to keep it sensible?

The idea we will be granted approval as soon as the BNP or Jamaat win on the 12th isn’t realisitc but an offer for the license sooner rather than later is? Pay the British off and that piece of history is put to bed. To be honest, they could all come out say Phulbari will never be mined in the hope they can get the license for peanuts?

I must admit to be a little confused as to why Rahman thinks no mega projects encourages investment? Mega Projects run correctly - look at China. Without Teesta where do they start? Be nice to see some detail around Manifesto’s although we know from the UK these often aren’t worth the paper they are written on. The likelyhood of the deal collapsing was significantly reduced at that point so its an easy 25% now...people still not happy to take that though and keen to trade up and down until Q1/Q2

As i said, if the Energy Policy fails to address the actual situation and Energy mix then its a wasted exercise.

Interim Gov NCTrade, they won't be in power in 2 months time...what have they actually done to improve the Energy situation in 18 months? Are Foreign currency reserves better or worse than when they were instilled?

Many on here have tempered their optimism in the many yrs invested...for what its worth i don't even care about the Approval necessarily, if the Company is taken over then a decent spike would probably tempt me to take some profit. The company has been delisted and was a penny not too long ago.

I've never filtered anyone so i can see all the posts - apart from the ones removed! Some posters flip flop on here from week to week so its often interesting to see how people post. Phulbari has been spot on so i respect his posting however times have to change or Bangladesh will never move on.

If held?…surely a spectacular failure of the Interim Gov and Bangladesh in general if they don’t go ahead?

Very well written. If GoB simply bought the license back fo a couple of hundred million then it’s an easier sell…it’s peanuts but it’s better than leaving it it the ground and refusing to learn from those lessons?
