There is no official link between Phulbari and Teestra but PC are the contractors for both and the overburden is seen as massively supportive to the construction. For what its worth i think you are spot on YKIR - the placing wasn't necessary as far as we know, they had cash - the extra 16m shares are being used to surpress the price, the Board knowing that there would be news that would spike the price. 10p is low ball and doesn't even recoup the outlay made by GCM over the past 20yrs...and whats in it for Tang and others? Bangladesh is on the cusp of real change - this is monumental for GCM, yet we are at 7p.

I was expecting sentiment to grow up to the 12th and the SP to be mid teens at worst but i've given up trying to understand and predict as for me it makes no sense.

We have had every bu66er and there uncle say Bangla should be mining there own coal apart from any of the main parties, for Tarique, leader of the BNP and who are currently leading the polls, to come out and say that they will be mining own coal is a massive statement. Phulbari is the only mine ready to go...deposits litter the northern regions but Phulbari is 2yr off coal, many yrs ahead of everything else.

Phulbari is a very emotive word to some still so a sensitive approach would be prudent. Tarique has said more than I expected on Friday but it makes him far more credible. The BNP, should they get in, could still ignore Phulbari but FACT remains that it’s the closest to be able to get to coal by yrs and if they decide to OP Bara it would be impossible not to touch Phulbari IMO. The FACTS are they Coal will be part of the energy mix and they require more than is used now, they cannot afford to import it so where is it going to come from in the medium term…this week and next could and should be one of the most significant in the shares history. Let’s hope we get at least some reward for holding all of these yrs

I disagree. It has seen steady increases on news and sentiment before - 2009 it went from 75p to £3.14...SoD was never approved. I had hoped the re-rate would have started long before now but here we are. What would happen if Approval was given tomorrow...anybodies guess but i would expect a gap up followed by a stready re-rate to NAV

Mentioning Phulbari might put the cat amongst the pigeons and give people like Anu Muhammad license to drum up some negativeity right before Bangla goes to the polls. Neither BNP or Jamaat would risk that surely - it could make a big difference or it couldn't make no difference at all but why risk it?

If the BNP's Manifesto sticks by the 31 point plan then it will state using Domestic Coal to be utilised, the electorate can then make their own minds as to where that coal comes from? It may even prompt some questions at rallies in the North but i doubt either party will openly state Phulbari.

Yes, that’s the risk but he owns enough shares to make himself very, very wealthy. If he wanted to take it private I think he could have done a year or so back, but then he does need PI’s to dip into their pockets for a placing every now and then…Polo is different, they didn’t have an asset like Phulbari.
