Hi Fred, yours is one of the more realistic and sensable posts over the Christmas holiday period, I just happened to look in here for the first time since my last post as I consider my time with family and friends to be a far more important and valuable use of my time than reading the endless opinions of those who we know full well have no more idea what's the next step in the Sirius story than anyone else on here, doesn't stop their endless attempts to drive their opinions repeatedly onto others though which is very telling that they keep on and on.

hopoethebest, the fact is that the government's past and potential future involvement in assisting Sirius Minerals in whatever form has absolutely no inference to Shareholders and will no be seen as such by those who are directly involved, there are far more important aspects of this project than shareholders and it's those aspects that really matter to HMG and the Country going forward.

I think you overestimate the power of these chat boards, considering how many PI's held this share how many do you think read this board let alone act on agenda ridden posters like Illbetabuck, considering those that feel they need to respond to his non stop barrage of negativity I doubt he does very little to actually make people consider their actions based on anything he writes, the fact is that people will make their decisions based on their own assessment of the situation relative to their own circumstances, doesn't stop him from being extremely irritating though, still if that's how he chooses to spend his life on here day in day out winding a few posters up then he deserves pity far more than consideration of anything he keeps repeating on here, seems obvious to me he takes pleasure in trying to cause discomfort to others, upon reflection we should consider ourselves lucky people not to have such a personality disorder!!!.

IMO there's no question Boulby will be given planning approval and I doubt very little that Sirius will be involved in objecting, however there are issues relating to the environmental protection afforded National Parks now that didn't exist when Boulby mine was built and ICL does not exactly have the best record of environmental responsibility as a global industry player, I'm sure there's plenty of people who all things being equal would like to see the NYMNP make ICL step up to the mark in cleaning its act up which would require some investment at the site, Sirius had their legs held to the fire over Woodsmiths environmental impacts and rightly so, I see no reason why Boulby should not be made to do the same, from the NYMNP perspective it's all about their responsibility to the environment and they should not have one set of standards for Sirius and another for ICL.

It will be interesting and observed how they deal with this application, I for one witnessed a big chunk of duplicity in planning standards over Boulbys last planning application to build yet another monstrous shed on their site!!!.

I'm sure I won't be the only observer of the standards applied by the NYMNP in dealing with ICL's planning application.

dadean as someone who has been involved with SXX since 2012 and followed it intensely for seven years I feel that so few have offered you an opinion on your question because very few consider it to be on the table regarding the raising of the next round of finance, I certainly don't, indeed the very thought of Sirius giving up the controlling stake of the company to raise $400 to $600 million dollars is pure invention by a certain poster on here with a very clear agenda (it could now not be more obvious) to destabilise confidence amongst PI's.

One thing I'm absolutely confident of over this thread is that ICL are not currently in any type of negotiations or takeover attempt with SXX, it's been used as another angle by our resident deramper to sow further seeds of doubt, pathetic really but when he's tried every other angle possible at inventing the shareholder wipeout fear for months on end I suppose we shouldn't expect any surprises from him, he has now become more a source of amusement than realistic possible scenarios if you have historical knowledge of Sxx and the type of resource on your side.

Appychap, I'd suggest you do some research on ICL's financial situation and company statements and financial liabilities over the past couple of financial periods, it might just help answer your questions about why they haven't started buying up SXX stock ahead of a hostile takeover, they have other issues to deal with. DYOR as ever.

Scabawath, don't knock Boulby's production achievements, in the long run they are doing us a real favour in establishing an ever wider demand for a product ahead of Sirius production, may seem like a cloud but it does have a silver lining in many ways not least a few years down the road besides the fact it continues to employ many people in a mine that would otherwise now be shut.

Chrisatbirdies, his "but let’s wait for details of a deal before we get ahead of ourselves." is nothing but mere deflection to the fact he spends so much time on here seven days a week picking up on any single shed of investors hopes or positivity and turning into the most negative angle possible, he's been asked your question by several posters and gives a similar reply that does not answer the question, no one but no one would dedicate so much of their time on trying to plant so strongly the worst case scenario day in day out unless they had a clear self interest/motive on unsettling investors old / and new, his answers are weak and very transparent to his game here, I've never been more convinced he's trying to manipulate this share price, considering the years we have both witnessed stock bashers on SXX he stands out a mile as a financially motivated stock basher of SXX.

So we've got an Electrician and a Quantity Surveyor at Woodsmith telling us a deal is done and if that isn't enough to get you rushing to Barclays to get some more shares I can tell you that a pal of mine in the Wilsons arms at Sneatonthorpe last night was speaking to a mates Aunty who's best pal knows the cousin of a Candle Stick Maker at Woodsmith and apparently he's getting made redundant next week because the leccy is coming back on after they've taken delivery of some LPG for the generators.

KOH, I haven't at any point said there isn't a risk of dilution, even I'm my senarios there's dilution in another form than a direct increase in shares issued, however there is no such thing as the absolute that you agree with "it's not a realistic option" and the percentages that illderampthistillecowscomehome talk about are simply sticking your finger in the air and think of a figure that will try and frighten enough investors so they sell, it's no more reliable than if I stated they'll be no dilution in any form whatsoever, that's not what I'm stating, I do believe that alternative strategic partners are very much in the frame and laid out some scenarios that are worthy of consideration especially given the current valuation on the company, I also don't rule out the IPA route again once and dependant on the Election result!!! all IMO unlike some on here who talk in absolutes!!!.

Hi Chrisatbirdies, I hear what you are saying but it's worthy of note just how much of the risk Strabag currently hold of the risk on the MTS, looking back at the RNS they already shoulder 100% of it, not sure about DMC on the shafts ATM but I don't see them considering theses a sticking point beyond a price should there be negotiation. I was just pointing out some considerations, there's no absolutes as our dear resident deramper would like some to think!!!

Hi TonyBaby, if SXX get the money to see them through the shaft sink without direct share dilution and there are actually a few scenarios that could realistically see this happen, an example being that DMC build and own the shafts and get a royalty on the amount of material they transport, similar scenarios with the MTS then the terms of the deal will obviously have a bearing on the SP, however seeing as our resident deramper Illbetabuck has already stated that the company's current market value is priced to fail I'd say the SP would be many multiples of its current position and I see it as a very real 'possibility' it's in everyone's interest to consider these options along with other possible scenarios, there's a lot at stake here not least for the man charged with overseeing the next stage of finance so these type of scenarios are indeed a "realistic option" IMO.
