chilling, agronomist trials and study's would indicate that your belief a tie up between CF Fertiliser's for a Nitrogen additive/ blend to Poly4 is not appropriate from a nutrition delivery perspective, I have seen nothing to suggest otherwise over many years of reading various crop fertilizer trials, I would be interested to read if you have research study's that indicate otherwise and the specific crops that would benefit from such a blend?.

You do yourself a great disservice by the above statement, SL's post is absolutely driven by his recent declaration that he has sold a considerable proportion of his position here, and given his ludicrous statement:

Myo, your 8:26 post is the exact reason I initially took interest in Sirius, id heard of them but a product sale in my business to a mining (prospector at the time) is what really started me off, followed up by a visit to a local public consultation by the Co and a chance to question CF about the then planned mine on the moors, then I started to hit me about just how big this company's project was going to be, it didn't take long for me to put into perspective it's size, reach and potential in the small town's of Scarborough, our biggest employer in this town at the time employed 350/400 workers and not that long ago during a financial crisis leading fortunately to a management buyout it was feared we would lose this major employer that has been established since the 1950's, the thought of a small seaside resort losing its biggest employer sent real concerns through the population, its impact would have been very severe indeed to the economy of our town.

After comparison to the thousands of jobs both direct and indirect that would be created if Sirius was successful at attaining planning permission and building the mine I decided to do everything I was able to support Sirius and I always will, no amount of chat, arguments, or discussions on these boards puts into perspective what's happening in the real world on my doorstep here In our area.

The local community handouts are an intrinsic part of the whole project and very much a part of the reason this project has the local support that enabled considerable leverage in successful planning permission for this company, they cannot be separated and yes we do come down the line as shareholders in my mind and rightly so.

The transient nature and those who want financial gratification from short term investment strategy is nothing new as long as I've been involved and I doubt that'll change for some time, I do however believe we are at a crucial step that will soon allow the short term investors to either lock in for the longer outlook or move on to other less certain opportunities to fulfill their aspirations, I like yourself will gain much satisfaction from seeing this project come to fruition, it's a shining star without a doubt.

Kapersky, part of my last post comes from personal experience, my business not connected to fertilizer in any way does blend multiple products to suit customer requirements, I have a broad range of trade and retail customers whose spend varies from a few pounds to thousands of pounds per order or sale, my biggest customer will place an order twice a month for exactly the same product each time that equates in value to more than all my other customers put together, it takes me approx 1 to 2 days per month to blend check and package their order, the other roughly 28/29 days per month I spend servicing the balance of 90 odd customers, therefore despite the better price I have to offer my big volume customer my profit margin is exponentially higher, although I would never want all my eggs in one basket the benefits and overall profitability having a few large rather than many small customers is great.

I believe this is the whole structure behind the modeling for Woodsmith Mine and the 13/20 million ton capacity aims for Sirius, which is a huge amount of product that will be marketed and sold in huge volumes to downstream customers some of who will specialize in niche market product manufacturing and others high volume market direct product application, they will not be tying themselves up into producing the likes of a boxs of grass feed or compost in B&Q. IMO.

Morning Myo, as you say about stage application of differing nutrients I just copied from the ICL literature on one of there three blends does actually state:

A considerable proportion of the K content is in sulphate (SO4) form (20–35%), which allows flexible use in many crops by reducing the chloride input.

PKpluS is produced at ICL plants in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Principle advantages of PKpluS include:

available in a variety of formulations
apply P and K, along with S, Mg and Ca in a single application
allows P and K to be separated from N application, thus N can be applied after germination at the right time for the crop, in the right form, and in the right weather conditions, avoiding N overdosing or leaching. Use PKpluS fertilizer for higher N use efficiency without waste and unnecessary cost to farmers' businesses or the environment.

Chilting, not even ICL blend Nitrogen to their product as you said you would require, however I do understand that you may require specific blends for your particular requirements, however I'm sure Sirius will be focusing on bulk supplying to mass market to satisfy maximum production for the first few years, it may not be good enough for you but In business you cannot please all of the people all of the time and you have to concentrate on maximizing your own profitability and volume very much comes into play in that equation and I'm sure it will during early production of Poly4 given the scope and forward sales for the product in its current form.

chilting, Sirius are a few years from Polyhalite extraction even at that point it would be a few years before they would need to expand sales, everything they extract will be required to fulfill the contractual obligations already in place to meet the TOP's.

ICL not that long ago dismissed any real future for large scale Polyhalite extraction now they are promoting and developing its use like there's no tomorrow, I genuinely take no pleasure in saying that I'm more concerned about the future of Boulbys workforce once Sirius reach meaningful volume of Polyhailite extraction than I am about Sirius need to expand its range of blended offerings to maximize profitability, I doubt for a second that ICL will have a foothold over the cream of the premium offerings by the time we are in production from two perspectives, the product cost and the mechanical make up of nutrient release be it pure Poly4 or NPK blends will very much come into play, I have little doubt the options for expansion will be executed as and when necessary but I'm of the mind that Sirius will not need to tie up with CF Fertilizer's to achieve its production and sales goals.

8.5 million tons of forward sales agreements tells me that's not strictly the case, yes their will be customer demands for certain other blends but to state Poly4 is only a job half done from a customer's point of view does not take consideration of all the work done by Sirius so far on their worldwide crop trails, research and forward sales agreements!!!.

chilling, I'm of the view that the way the Poly4 product is manufactured and has a watertight patent on the methodology of producing such granular fertilizer's that the ICL range of products are produced in different locations is purely about using their resource bases to maximize efficiency of their plant, I was sat looking down at Boulby last week and it struck me just how old and dated their mine is with piles of fertilizer stacked outside in the snow awaiting transportation on the train, they would have to build extensive mixing plant here in the U.K. when they probably already have those option in the Netherlands, Germany and Israel, Sirius are building such a new facility at Teesside and after studying the processes from making Poly4 I don't believe that adding and blending additional nutrients to the process would require too much additional infrastructure costs other than additional storage capacity if needed, other than that I see no reason that Sirius would need to tie up with CF from a production aspect, however ADM is a very different proposition altogether, I don't think it can be overstated the potential benefits of the tie up between Sirius and ADM their global reach and size has massive potential that could and hopefully will give Woodsmith's production no cause for concern about overcapacity for many years to come.

From studying ICL's range of product it's apparent to me that although they are using Polyhalite as a base and additional material in producing their final range of products they producing very different beasts indeed and that is due to the detail in that (coco intensive) requirement to study and absorb the detail in the link that Chem2 kindly pasted yesterday, I've read it a few times now each time allowing me to understand the extensive detail that very much restricts others from attempting to produce a similar product other than using the same raw materials, there in lies the value of a watertight patent on a full spectrum of products from Medicines, Mobile Phones to Fertilizer. ;-)

casapinos, why do you find it disconcerting, do you feel you have something to hide perhaps!!!. I have clearly stated as have many others on here that the intensity of your posting on here and the spread of your negativity on many different aspects was suspicious, you haven't simply done what most decent right minded people would do if they so felt the need to simply state their case for selling and move on, you however have put considerable effort into repeated attempts to create negativity, quite often using extremely dubious opinion dressed up as "fact" in your opinion, I simply seek to inform that it isn't fact at all, your past posting history tells a very clear message that you change your opinion based on current and not your long term opinions, nothing wrong with that but your intensity is clearly to undermine confidence here among the less well informed, that's not balance it's greed at any cost to others for your own personal gain in my opinion and I make no apologies for stating so.
