Thank you nowhere for your interesting posting. You most certainly do appear to know what you are talking about and have genuine concerns about the investors in this company. I most certainly do hope that I made the correct decision to sell my significant shareholding at a large loss but because of my need to fund a property and my concerns after reading a number of postings I took the action that I did by selling me entire holding. Are you willing to tell us who is leaving Lamprell?
I sold my significant holding in Lamprell for multiple reasons firstly I needed a sum of money for a property purchase in Georgia. Secondly I cannot see oil going back to previous high levels for years hence where will the orders be coming from in the next few years. Some of the recent negative postings also made sense to me. What I will say however was that I had no problem selling my holding of over 1.35 million shares so somebody was very positive about Lamprell at these price levels which no doubt was Majedie Asset Management. I am of course upset with myself for not selling out years ago when the two directors sold at around 340pence just weeks before a series of profit warnings.
In a situation like this you can choose to believe the postings or not but the fact is that I have owned the stated amount of shares in Lamprell for many years. At one stage I was making millions of pounds sadly after the profit warnings and further recent falls I sold my holding at a considerable loss. If you don't believe what I am posting so be it my friend.
You are correct of course but what I do know is that what I am posting re my share sales are 100% accurate. The sale at 10-33am was the balance on my holding.
Its such a difficult decision to make do you believe what some posters are saying or not? Does what their saying about rigs being stacked daily make sense or not? On balance I thought that what nowhere, Afterburn and armagedon said was truthful and accurate hence in the last three days I have sold my entire holding of over 1.35 million shares in Lamprell. Only time will tell if by following the advice of these posters I owe them many thanks or not. Master RSI you may of course be correct with your observation but I was not prepared to take the chance that you were wrong.
Long term shareholders such as myself know the value of following the directors dealings in this company. The only reason I did not buy more shares at around one pound a share was a lack of cash because John Kennedy buying shares at that price was a sign to all shareholders that we should be increasing our holdings in Lamprell.
Have you read yesterdays RNS from the company as it is far from positive and was probably expected by the market hence the drift down in the share price in recent months. The events in Nigeria must give cause for concern and as you will know this is a major market for this well run company.
Thank you very much for your posting today it is greatly appreciated as much as it was in part amusing.
I believe that you would have to sell on Wednesday or after to be entitled to the rights as it goes ex rights that day for the purchaser of any shares.
The point is that it is very unlikely that the share price will stay at the current level after the rights issues as the extra issued shares will have a diluting effect on the companies share price. At the current share price I would expect the shares to trade in the 140-145p range once the new shares have been issued.
I agree with you my fellow Owl as its getting too expensive. I have just returned from America which involved spending two weeks in Boston so I could see Laurene followed by a week in a hotel in New York with Edan and returning to Florida to be with Cathy who is joining me in the UK at the end of the month. You are correct that the good news over the last year has not caused any significant increase in the share price. I guess its down to sentiment as the market needs to be 100% sure that the events of two years ago are a one off that will never be repeated. You are correct that in most rights issues the share price falls in part because of forced sellers such as myself who cannot afford to take up all my rights. It is quite unusual that in both Lamprell rights issues the share price has gone up after the rights has been announced.
You can buy shares in Lamprell and subscribe for the rights issue which is not the bargain that it appears because all things being equal the share price after the rights will fall to reflect the dilution caused by the increase in the number of shares.
As you are aware I have well over one million shares in Lamprell in my ISA so rights issues give me a particular problem as I don't have the spare cash that Steve Lamprell seems to have. Anyway in answer to your question I sold my holding in Heritage oil to raise about half the cash required to take up my rights. The balance of the cash needed came from selling eight five thousand Lamprell shares a few days ago. I therefore now have enough money to take up the rights on my residual holding in Lamprell.
I am one of many people on this board who appreciates your postings on this company. I do hope that this board stays clear of the bad mannered nonsense that you read on some other boards.
I have to ask you are you still optimistic for Lamprell as we have a falling share price, no director share purchases and little in the way of recent orders. Your views would be most appreciated as always on this board.
Point taken my friends!!!!!!!!!!
All too true my friend!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks bonum but to be honest after losing my shirt on CZA my interest in shares is greatly reduced. Its time for me to spend some of my money not try to make more. I note your comments Moljen and I am staying single for the reasons you mention. I get in enough trouble with my partner re the other woman that she knows about its the one in Boston that she knows nothing about that concerns me!!!!!!!!!!!LOL. I actually am off to the Smithsonian air and space museum today one of seventeen Smithsonians would you believe. Washington just like New York is no longer a scary place to visit. Sorry to go off topic folks.
I appreciate your message but for one week I have left sunny Florida behind to spend a week in Washington DC seeing all that has to offer and for anybody who has never visited the nations capital please try and come as there is so much to see. While the price improvement is appreciated by myself especially with my significant holding we must still not forget that it is currently less than half the price it was when two 'directors' sold a significant number of shares in May of last year. At least it is doing better than Coal of Africa where I am down over 1.25 million pounds in two and a half years. This is the worse investment(if you can call it that) that I have ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like your comment to the board back in August about the need for some directors to show faith in the company by purchasing some shares has fallen on deaf ears. What are we to make of this situation when two 'directors' were quick enough to sell a significant number of shares less than two weeks before the first of many profit warnings. The directors should know best so I am wondering if we are being too optimistic about future share price appreciation. In the last couple of months we have had good news regarding banking issues, new contracts and better than expected results yet the share price has not appreciated at all. This is probably due to the market still having doubts about this company which is why the directors buying shares is so important as it demonstrates their faith in the future of Lamprell.
