RE: Price9 Aug 2024 15:36
This share has been trading at a third of its value for a year, and was at two-thirds value for 3 years before that.
The initial drop was covid-induced, and the lack of recovery due to the market's concern over the growing debt pile consuming future fees in a rising rate environment.
However, the precedent set by the first successful emissions case opens the door to multiple similar actions which will provide one-off lump settlements (Nissan, Volvo plus a few others, each in the millions) and go some way to paying off the debt, which is by now easily manageable.
Plus if you look at the growth of the relatively new housing division, which can accurately be described as exponential, there is another lever for future EBITDA increases against what should be a rapidly shrinking debt pile.
Yet another small UK plc that demonstrates the fact that while the Americans, French, Spanish etc. know how to value companies and are cleaning up, apparently we still do not.
