Aviva PLC’s (LON:AV.) trading update on Thursday should shed some light on how the insurer has been doing in the second half of the year as well as its outlook for the new financial period.

In August, the firm said uncertainty will persist in the near term meaning that growth and profitability targets will be harder to deliver, so the market will be looking for updates on that.

Investors will look for potential new sales after the recent deals aimed at strengthening the company’s liquidity, as part of its broader capital management and debt reduction effort.

This month the FTSE 100 completed the sale of its entire holding in an Indonesian joint venture, as announced in March, while in September it offloaded a majority stake in its Singapore subsidiary in a £1.6bn deal.

Assuming this is successful.....Astra’s vaccine is muted to be around the £3.00 mark as opposed to Pfizer’s vaccine at close to £23.00. It is a low margin vaccine but the ease of use and quantity needed should provide a great return. Astra will not be making any money on the vaccine in the early stages but I read that this will change next July?
Oxb, I assume being a manufacturer and sub contracted will be operating as usual on a profit basis.
Depending on the hoped for spike it maybe a chance to bank a few profits and get back in at a later date. Perhaps wishful thinking !

Sounds like a great product. If they can line up a major customer we are in business.

Not done and dusted but analysts at Deutsche Bank have noted that on average once a vaccine for an infectious disease makes it to phase-three trials, it has an 85% chance of being approved. What do analysts know :-)

The vaccine is in late phase 3 stage with no issues and is being manufactured in large quantities worldwide, especially in India.It appears to be a low margin, mass volume Vaccine . A major Indian manufacturer has had massive investment over the past months but said that it has become increasingly difficult to raise further investment due to the small margins. They are hoping to start using the vaccine next month so we should see a large spike in the coming weeks if and when it’s approved.
This could become the main vaccine due to its ease of storage and low cost. It will be needed for a considerable time in large quantities but as to profit for Oxb who knows?

Mention of a vaccine and the market intimates that SYMs products are now redundant. Ncyt and others in the same boat. Give it a few days and reality will creep back in again. Sp down but very good news if the Phizer vaccine is approved..

Australian lab to join the manufacture of Astra’s vaccine. Must be fairly certain of success so what about Oxb’s sp reflecting this. Perhaps this week?
