Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
In my opinion this was your standard pump up the share price to do a capital raise. Lots of news, punters push the price up, raise capital @ 23.7% discount to the punters price. Then release poor results & watch the stock drop with no more news.
Why do I think that? First check out the charts. Second, none of the news announcements had any financial data or real info anyone could put a value on. Third, the financials (when finally released) were really bad. (Revenue in H1 the worst it's been for years. You can't grow a business by cutting the guts out of it. You also can't change the tech platform without investment.) Hopefully they can survive on 5m ... because the insto investors won't fall for this again with 7Dig. IMHO - MYOB!
You all know Peloton bought Neurotic Media for $30m right? Not sure where you get your info from but Peloton has no need of 7Dig.
Better to do a little research ...
Hi Starjump & Redditchrocket - good comments. Unfortunately there's no new financial information on which to base decisions - 30 June 2019 was a long time ago and obviously a lot has changed since then.
They've reduced costs by 60% to get to first ever profitable period (hoping this will happen in H2). Hard to grow rapidly while cutting costs 60% but maybe there was a hell of a lot of deadwood.
They mention industries & deals but it's so opaque it makes me wonder what they are hiding.
Lululemon is a sports clothing brand. Peleton got in a lot of trouble for breaching music licensing.
Why would Spotify care about 7Dig? So funny how little is known about the sector this company operates in.
So 7Dig did raise $ ...
Hi Ms/Mr Trumpy: no malice intended, just an honest assessment. You're probably right, the share price will continue to rise. It's just I know a little about the industry and wanted to share my thoughts. As a fundamental investor, I like to know the financials behind what I buy and the details behind the transaction. I thought others might share similar insights but I'm not seeing much of that here - mostly hype. I'll have to try elsewhere. (Remember not all investors are from the UK). Good luck.
Honestly, I'm surprised how far this has run on the Triller contract renewal. Maybe I've done wider reading. Triller doesn't use the whole 7Dig platform. Reading between the lines, all they use 7Dig for is as an access pipe for the content and some basic reporting. This is not a value-add service and there are plenty of companies that can provide the same service cheaply (think Napster, MND, Tuned Global, Golden Dynamics and many others - do a little Google search). Triller can also go to labels directly e.g Warner, UMG, Sony, etc. it's just a bit more of a hassle. Triller does not need to buy 7Dig, it's not core to Triller and the 7Dig service is easily replicated.
Also, the original Triller deal was announced two years ago as an 18 month contract (i.e. it expired 6 months ago). So either it wasn't renewed for 6 months or 7Dig sat on this renewal for 6 months ... in either case, why? Also, why no financial disclosure related to the deal - the last contract wasn't that valuable (at least the financials didn't change much) - what is the excitement around this deal with no visibility on the revenue potential to 7Dig.
7Dig must be almost out of cash, the last raise won't last long. My bet is this is to pump the price for a capital raise - time will tell. Looking forward to seeing some financial updates soon!
Thanks UrbanWolf. Agree these could be lucrative but with no detail how would anyone know? (BTW 7DIG hasn't signed a deal with Shopify - it signed a deal with Single, LLC which is a plugin app for Shopify that has about 30 reviews on the app store: https://markets.ft.com/data/announce/detail?dockey=1323-14398252-6PVCCTOS6EPIN2ARQ31JEHB1CO).
All I'm saying is, it would be helpful if 7DIG provided some details of the value of these contracts. Keen to learn more before buying - I don't like guessing.
Will be interesting to see how it unfolds. (BTW Directors didn't pay much for their skin in the game.)
Don't go near 7DIG until you see financials! There's been no financial information for 10 months.
Just started following 7DIG - why no financial information for 10 months (since September)? Are they trying to hide something?
