Significant exploration opportunities through a: @@@@@@@100% working interest in Block 31-E, containing the new shale gas opportunity@@@@@@@@ and 33.77% working interest in the Aguaytía Deep Prospect in Block 31-C.

we have a producing oil field circa 400+bopd, some value from the share in the gas & a refinery which can deal with 2500+bopd..the debt was used to fund the ethanol plant which is world class but been hit with low ethanol prices & 2 bad harvests of late..the shale gas was originally reported in 2010 but has more recently hit the press with quotes of 75trillion cubic feet, which is a lot of gas..someone will want to do a deal but it must be the right deal, the was originally greeted with enthusiasm but I was sceptical due to the dilution & the complete forfeit of the oil & gas fields & refinery, leaving the debt all saddled on the ethanol business with 75% dilution but with $40m + cash..the 2 new directors, Meeus & Malic have a 22% stake in MPLE, which they have gathered at levels in excess of 30p & they wanted to move the ethanol business forwards with the help of Gran & Alco & the 'proposed transaction' this is the deal that has been rejected..someone on MPLE's side of things have rejected this deal & I think it's the senior lenders..Lets hope something gets sorted that everyone is happy with, there is heavy ii involvement with this company & a lot a stake, not for the faint hearted as we are flying by the seat of our pants but the right deal is arranged we will be laughing..

More to this than meets the eye, the oil & gas asset is the deal breaker..my view is the senior lenders opposed the merger & probably right, as to the MRC offer that must have been unsuitable too..if they can restucture the debt & or get another company on board with cash to develop the shale opportunity we could be in for a treat..no big sell.off yet still all to play for here..

What's your thoughts here duderino, have the board kicked the offer out or are the senior lenders dictating? Something must be brewing up in the background..

Worth remembering that Maple Gas Corporation Dealer Lot 31E previously informed that this area would Peru Petro 75 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas shale.

Knocked the deal back, because the new set up would mean that all the debt would be on the ethanol businesses back, with the oil & gas kept separate..too much risk for the lenders I think & they want the security of all the business..the J.W. Hanks deal looks good value in hindsight & could have been sorted by now with a massive cash injection into the ethanol plant & no dilution..what a bunch of mugs the BoD's are here for turning that away..

all is forgiven..

crazy considering merger news is so near..remember this deal has been pushed forward as opposed to J.W. Hanks' cash deal, so with that in mind I'm envisioning a swift execution & when you look at what the ii's & directors have paid..anything under 10p is extremly cheap..

I agree with pete & marve, except on one point. marve you said 'pete i agree completely with your above comment, however the only problem is the bod are experienced in not being able to manage money' I think the IRGS & his merry band of BoD's are experienced in managing money & very good at 'MANAGING TO SPEND MONEY' in amounts that are unprecedented for a company so small..haha..
