NGS (see slide 10) is closing down as expected. We're now waiting for news on permitting progress.

Meanwhile this BB has split into two parallel universes - only time will tell which is the real one ;-)

It's just as well we haven't yet signed any pozz offtake agreements - our negotiating position will be much stronger now :-)

OK, I see that the lakepowelllife article has now been updated, confirming the vote (couldn't be closer: 9 for, 11 against!).

The Navajo Times does say "The bill is now dead unless a delegate introduces a new bill to revive the discussion." but I'm guessing that's unlikely.

Looks like they've voted to reject the reclamation liability terms that SRP (the NGS vendor) are insisting on, so it's heading for a "No Deal" outcome.

Oddly similar to other negotiations currently in progress ;-)

Hi Theo, sorry I don't think I know any more about it than you do. We're told "We are on track to be fully permitted and mine ready in the third quarter of 2019", so "a good few months" is probably right.

Just a bit of speculation relating to this: We know from Dubliner's AGM report that our BOD were still 'finessing' the plan before submitting it to BLM, and I wonder if they're holding off until this NGS issue is resolved. It obviously affects the Mine Plan, because it will make a difference to the ratio of perl & pozz that we can shift (slightly complicated by the fact that ungraded perl can be sold as pozz). If so then maybe we'll see the plan submitted in the next few days.

Re NGS closure, it now looks as if Thursday (21st) may be when it's finally resolved :

I still see closure as a near certainty, but will be happier when all doubt is removed.

(Even if it's kept open, it seems the plan would be to run at reduced capacity.)

The more recent stuff (Liberator Phase 2 & Serendipity) is obviously higher risk. But won't the deal be largely focused on Liberator Phase 1, which is a proven reserve?

Well if the potential partners look at the data and reach conclusions which are slightly less optimistic than I3E's, that would hardly be a surprise.

But in that case isn't it just a case of tweaking the deal slightly? So on the one hand the deal could ensure that the partner still does OK if the targets aren't fully met; but in return I3E get to keep a bigger slice of the profits if it turns out they were right all along.

(AIMHO, I'm no expert in how these partnerships work!)

Just a thought regarding the ongoing SNG001 trial. Early this month I caught the flu that's doing the rounds. The worst symptoms only lasted a few days, but it also came with a chesty cough (plenty of catarrh etc) which has lasted for several weeks.

So it occurred to me that if some of the patients in the trial get what I got, then they will be in a PERFECT state to do the evaluation.

Now I know I shouldn't be wishing my flu onto other people, let alone those with COPD, but, well, it is all for the greater good...

From a purely economic point of view I'd completely agree with you. However, there are politicians involved - need I say more?!

I will say a little more, because the whole thing is a fascinating story which might make a great Hollywood film :

The baddies are the bosses of a polluting power plant, looking for ways to offload their clean-up responsibilities.

Then there's the local politicians (also baddies, obviously) who are in collusion with the bosses. They want to look good by saving jobs. When it inevitably turns into an economic disaster later on, well, they'll be long gone by then.

The baddies are trying to achieve their evil ends via an organisation called NTEC - even the name has a sinister ring to it - which is run by people with a chequered history (allegedly).

On the side of the goodies are lone voices like Ms Nicole Horseherder (what a great name!) who is desperately trying to warn her people that they're being led towards financial ruin.

How does the film end? We don't know yet. But I'm glad we're on the side of the goodies :-)
