RE: SYNAIRGEN TRIAL EXTENDED TO AGED OVER 65 AT HOME29 Apr 2020 20:32
Well spotted Forest24 (& Bosi for flagging the earlier amendment yesterday).
My first thought was - would an over-65 be able to cope with doing things this way?
Then I remembered - I am an over-65 :-(
Seriously, I think this is a great development. It's very innovative, and for that reason alone I think they'll have no problem getting publicity if they need it.
What does it imply for the original hospital-based trial? I take a mixed view. It can't have been ideal, or they wouldn't be making this adjustment. But it can't have been negative (bad reactions etc.), or they'd never be allowed to switch to home-based.
Regarding the results timetable, I'm not sure if the original 100 might be unblinded while the 120 follow-on is still in progress?
