Last 48 hrs China Omicron Covid news & lockdowns have affected Brent greatly. If China gets a prompt hold, Brent downturn should be temporary. Shame it's unlikely to be quick enough to see it back to $113 before end of month. But as Kama wrote, 2 months ago we would have cheered $100 offload.

...unwittingly becoming a lightening rod for an unprovoked attack by a psychotic fool commencing Sat 12.03 11.16am. The attack pervaded the forum Sat & Sun, to the dismay of many. After initially defending, I refrained from comment hoping it would desist. It did not. It amplified. Not wishing escalation, I further refrained from comment. Effectively the poster censored me. That was his intent.

Last night I reported the poster to forum moderators. Solely because it is wrong for a poster to, unprovoked, maliciously attack another with the declared intention of censoring them, under alternate threat of further attack. On this occasion it was me. Tomorrow it could be someone else. I have never filtered anyone, nor will I. Someone can accuse me of mass murder - providing it is fair comment. But when someone attacks the fundamental integrity of the forum, I take umbrage and will defend that integrity.

I note that moderators have already removed those posts which unarguably fell outside the definitive of legitimate comment or accepted forum rough and tumble.

The lady the psychotic fool also impugned was a former ballerina of some repute, now resident in UK some 20 years and with dual Russian/UK citizenship. For those 20 years she has written extensively against Putin, at personal risk on account of which she has not been able to visit her homeland.

I encourage posters to:-
(i) continue copying & pasting informative inet articles. They cumulatively upgrade everyone's knowledge base. No sane reader views the poster as seeking to claim kudos for or ownership of the content
(ii) continue posting relevant opinion on the Ukraine/Russia situation. It is not facile geopolitiking. The conflict length, and nature of eventual resolution will directly positively affect HUR's prospects - short, medium & long term. It already has done so, irrespective of the nature of the eventual outcome. I do not believe the long term significance is yet realised

You commenced as a forum member Oct 21 and HUR posts total 8. You appreciated my posts until Jan 21 when, (having lived both in Moscow & Kiev for significant periods & having numerous Russian & Ukrainian friends/ work relationships) I opined that (i) Ukraine would not welcome Russia (ii) Putin's 'raison d'etre' was regime perpetuation which would be weakened should Ukraine 'westernise' & Ukrainian better living standards be seen by neighbouring Russians (in similar way that Polish post-EU membership living standards influenced adjoining Ukraine). Having some knowledge (less than mine) you posted the following differing view:-
