HUR could give SHs 6p cash back by end Q3 2023

I do NOT consider it wise selling on today's spike to 8p
I do NOT consider the deal good and I will AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE by voting against
The deal gives 6p cash within couple of months - which we could have been given anyway after end June offload
The rest (another 6.5p TOPS) we get in dribs ONLY IF well 6 does not fail - no less risk than if we just kept on as is
We lose all and every upside

Brent -$74 as Credit Suisse lose 25% amidst temporary problems. Banking sentiment is that contagion won't spread and few weeks should see return to normal stability. With banked cash approaching any low ball offer likely to be made taking advantage of current volatility, sensible to pull drawbridge & abandon FSP till better times? Now is NOT good time to sell HUR - all round sentiment & Brent price in few months much improved?

so we're stuck with it at 35% till 2028. we all forget it went up from 25% to 35% in november
harbour energy (biggest uk) made concerted representations as it said it crashed it's 2022 profits from 1.5 billion to 8 million. it lost $20 a barrel hedging which was it's own fault otherwise it would still have made nigh on a billion.

If anyone been watching the budget could they say if the EPL Energy Profit Levy was adjusted in any way? Thanks

What would it cost me? Nothing - all know moderators have candy-floss teeth.
It would also gain me a handful of support ticks from those who with no valid reason do not like the cut of my jib.
I don't because a modicum of reflection, research & basic fact checking shows you are not lying. But that Jacqui has simply via natural exuberance to make a still valid point, miscounted.

The danger of killing the spirit of the 1-2 posters who have since early 2021 maintained a working dialogue (always within regulatory bounds) with CA is that one risks killing the conduit whereby said posters can assert and comfort the forum with certainty that, although PI & CA ultimate best separate interests may naturally & inevitably diverge at some point, divergence will not be gratuitous, and that CA will neither disavow nor fail to take into account a 'soldier in arms' duty of care to PIs. In other words, that CA will not shaft PIs. I assure all now that CA have always remained wholly aware, and acknowledged, that PI's 2021 efforts shielded it absolutely from the expected, false, accusation that it was a 'johny come lately, quick in & out profit seeking outfit'.
I have on occasion misread a post or opinion, and therefrom opined gratuitously & wrongly. I have always immediately announced 'mea culpa' and apologised unreservedly. All know being a fool for a moment or a day, doth not a fool make.
Despite my current shame at it (which will pass), this is the best/strongest/most ethical LSE forum. It is stronger than a current poison currently infecting it.

I add reflective comment. That others comment on days when exchange of views was less combative and, consequently. all benefitted & grew. This is true. Because it always holds true that a forum, aside from the essential topic at hand, enables members to develop logical, thinking, writing, ethical, debating, spiritual, community & communicating skills. Oldman - I'd be wary of again citing, let alone copying an email purporting to be from the BoD (or CA), which you post in good faith trying to help the forum. Because you are liable to be called a liar, with multiple people supporting the accuser.

Thanks fand & Corry for reaffirming that CA's average is 6.7p. If it was allowed to stand that it's average was circa 14p, where would we be? It is no small matter.

fand eruditely explained that I (and Corry) in different ways politely explained why it was 6.7p, and that such was a matter of fact, not opinion.
Corry has since also explained that CA may communicate with anyone regarding information already in the public domain (and indeed even if it is not, provided that it is not price sensitive, and relates strictly to CA not HUR). Kever who joined LSE 20.02.23 is on a very sticky wicket calling any poster liar when the forum knows the poster not to lie, and also knows that CA have quite reasonably & correctly engaged with several PI posters since early 2021 without breaching regulatory strictures.

Re my 'style' - it will not have gone unnoticed that it is multi-faceted and I post well considered detailed missives to promote understanding of various issues. I express 'exasperation' merely as a tool when ultra-reason & stark evidence falls on deliberately deaf ears on material issues. I am never angry and don't nitpick. As fand highlights, exasperation is a useful shorthand tool obviating the need for lengthy repetition. After all - how long would one expect a dentist to remain calm if a patient kept opining the best way to remove a tooth was a length of string and a stout door to slam?

If anyone wishes to continue to believe that CA's average is circa 14p, and that I have lied re CA's email clarification of the matter, good luck to them. I have done my bit, won't be commenting further, and won't be losing sleep. Responsible PI's know the facts.

CA's 6.7p average is a matter of FACT. It is NOT an issue for interpretation.
If CA sold it's shares for 6.7p tomorrow, the £43 million already banked trading profit would be cream.
This was confirmed in writing to various SHs, myself included.

Tony, and now 9 other readers, have supported a post 100% factually wrong.

The issue was nailed down yonks ago by LTSHs with common sense, knowledge of CA'a buying record & historical RNSs. Who also for absolute clarity obtained confirmation directly from CA.
Anyone with decent working knowledge of HUR knows the score.
The sadness is 7 readers recommending hxul's speculative post.

Of considerable interest is Harbour Energy's just issued 09.03.23 FULL YEAR RESULTS RNS (link below - well worth a read). Makes clear effect of EPL on bottom line profit and disincentive for independent oilers to invest in UK waters (notwithstanding that HUR currently seems remarkably inured (protected) against it's effect). Also the cost of hedging - Harbour decided upon long term hedging contracts to definitively ensure survival. But the cost is clear - it received $78 a barrel average for 2022, whilst HUR received $97 a barrel. Again, it is well worth a read
