Answering the last point first - only examining posts within the last, say, 3 minutes, "keyboard warrior". We could go back further, but don't need to.
I don't know much about the oil business but I am a qualified stock broker in both the UK and US (Series 7, Series 65). I understand brokers are participants in the market and sometimes form the other side of a trade. However:
1. That's still, in any sense, a buy or a sell.
2. They don't accumulate stock forever - if they've bought they quickly return the stock to the market meaning that even excluding the broker market participation - over the course of a day or two every buy or sell has a regular counterparty in the market.
