The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Hi Rob. Agree there are bubbles that get way over priced or see high growth at particular times. I have nvidia which has done great And a number of us tech companies which for sure arnt valued like gold companies.
In regards to crypto, briefly. I stake some and get differing returns some being 10% which is better than most dividends. Crypto miners work very much like conventional miners. If Bitcoin goes up they will go up much more for similar readons to goldies. For me I am spread over a lot of shares and sectors. I have goldies ready for any upturn but more cautiou than yourself on the likely pog . I don’t say anything isn’t possible but stay on the side of caution.
You can get exposure to crypto without holding crypto but holding Bitcoin miners is much more risky than holding Bitcoin . Trd is a good proper uk company that is in the blockchain space. Even pays a dividend . Best to explore posibilities rather than just dismiss them imv.
Goldies are undervalued in historical terms and have been for over 10 years it just remains to be seen how much of a re rate there is. Fingers crossed on that.
Good luck
Hi Bhargav, so, I don’t pretend to be an expert just use my judgement which obviously is somewhat different to urs.
Well your .36 buy in ggp was somewhat smarter than 45 p in Omi ! You managed to sell right at the top in ggp so strange that you buy up to and including the top and ride it down to 2.5 p . Unless there’s something you’re not saying???
Even if I was an expert you have too closed a view to learn from others I reckon unless it was a corresponding view. I will be happy to bow to your shrine when I bank my 20 bags 😜
Dr, they are fair comparison as far as jutisdiction risk and valuation imv. Whereas comparing to oaks which has the highest valuations is not. Obviously comparing a 100 k oz producer with 2 m v high grade oz in jorc estimate exploration project to a toddler with no resource at all, and if a jv is agreed not full ownership is certainly not apples for apples but the figures should spell something out .
With news this should move nicely tho depending on the funding and when funding is anounced. Tortoise against hare springs to mind. Personally will look to offload on spike hopefully. As for the 20 bags , well let’s see . Certainly wouldn’t say no but will have de risked before such a scenario however unlikely has unfolded.
Good luck all with their strategies.
Bhargav. Maybe try explaining it when it is fact rather than fiction! You called me a clown when I pointed out valuations were pie in the sky and that having majors isn’t the all great guarantee and that they mothball projects etc. currently I am not wearing big shoes or a red nose . I sold out around 8 p for a profit and now back in at around 3.7p average.
Good to see your back in ramp mode tho. Back to being happy to pay 50 p etc looools 😜.
Shg is being sold for £140 m just for a reality check amidst the fantasy share predictions but hey shouldn’t really knock the impending ramp fest since I will be looking for a spike sale.
Good luck guys but don’t be too disappointed if we don’t get ur 20 bags . Of course you never know but nobody’s gonna own up to being deluded if it fails to happen eh B .
Simms. Personally think mako makes more sense than calibre but still expecting this to be steered china wards personally . That’s what the ministry is likely to want. Mc stated sale not jv but if needs must. Let’s see.
There will be payback somewhere along the line. Whether it be more equity or milestones. But main thing is to get control back, preferably before equity raise by July imv.
Still tucking a few away. Modest compared to Bhargav , not even near Brad now, but building to a reasonable ammount for my requirements.
Good luck all.
Ha ha Nero 🤣. I was selling at 21 p for a small profit . Just reducing risk. Thankfully I don’t need 40s to break even. You never did let on what your average is 😜. Still holding just wanted to move a but somewhere else . Might be a mistake, who knows but not selling at a loss so not worried.
The fact that calibre is turning up great finds and has spare capacity doesn’t read they want to buy a project and spend $100 m building another mine. Oh well let’s see . Happy for some movement whatever prompts it to sell into though.
Simms, does this not seem somewhat reminiscent of the never ending toll deal.
The reasons given for sale were not only sanctions but the fact that we are not mine builders! Irrespective of selling everybody the production scenario for years. Even without sanctions the dilution levels needed to go to production were ridiculous which I think Mellon also touched on.
The only possible chance of going to production now is a form of joint venture. Cnr will never be able to raise the cash and although like with many of your claims Mellon won’t finance out of his petty cash !
Sanctions are not a storm in a tea cup and it is very likely to get furthered.
One thought . If you were Ortega the alleged anti imperialist. Would your help be going towards your new paymasters or a company from an imperialist country that has sanctions in place on you??
Hopefully we do see a conclusion soon but can’t say I would rely on it and for complete honesty I have been letting some go this past week while still just in profit just in case .
Dr. Late night tired posting . Of course there wouldn’t be 290 m shares issued in one placing and highly unlikely to be at 10p. But you never know. My point is they will not be able to raise the kind of capital needed to prove up this project . A jv would seem the only credible way. Collective raised around $30 m from memory last year.
Agree we Havnt raised for 3 years, unfortunately that cash fund has pretty much been squandered and unless we are going to have another upfront freebie which I doubt then Omi is about to join the ranks of constant cash raisers. It is not clear yet where the cash from next raise will go?? There is no resolution yet and that could continue for some time yet and then you need to organise the next phase . Let’s go 100 m shares at 5 p for £5m. We know that more than 3 m $ is a years costs at present . My hope is a jv is being worked.
Rob, rights issues very rare in explo companies in my experience, they are usually discounted raises and come with warrants attached in my experience. The bad ones have convertible loan notes that encourage shorting of the share price. What exploration companies are you in that have rights issues?
The issue isn’t raising cash, the issue is how much they can raise , at what level and what they can achieve with the cash. This company is burning millions pa achieving nothing currently. They could double the ammount of shares in the next 3 months and achieve nothing with it.
190 m shares at 10p (hopeful) would only give £1.9 m about 8 months at current burn rate of doing naff all.
Another jv seems the best option to me. No way this minnow can prove up this project.
Hi E l. Well I have heard for more than 14 months that Mellon won’t sell cheap, so one would assume that precludes a low sale? Obviously he will take the best offer he can get which will probably leave most holders , even with their now more realistic expectations disappointed. It has taken so long obviously for lack of a serious enough buyer to claim it. Of course mc has to state this however sometimes it is best to step back and use one’s own nose rather than just lap up bod pr , 150 k oz springs to mind! To have to play hardball for over a year is not believable imv. I note that you now say Mellon is not a miner. Odd that when he was predicting 150 k oz production nobody seemed to know this! The perceived wisdom here was that Mellon would fund this on his own if need be ,being a billionaire and our benefactor lol. That was one of the non facts simms was “sure of”! Along with deal this month for the last 10 months and £1 in dividends.
The problem with an offer is that it will then take quite a while to discover how much any offer translates to in sp. Ddd is the only other poster who makes an attempt to evaluate the costs to be deducted.
The mine build is obviously a non starter after many more millions and many more shares issued in this mammoth sale process. The facts were there previously that Cnr would not be able to raise the capital without massive dilution and that sanctions would affect it but nobody wanted to consider de ramp news!
Let’s hope that we do finally get an end to this painful process and that peeps get to see their stakes back.
Good luck all
Cf, perhaps they didn’t offer them out whilly nilly with teasers . 14 months and yet to see anything confirmed doesn’t suggest a bidding war it suggests a poor sales process to me . Personally in the blue just a bit and thinking of reducing risk. I don’t see top side of more than 100% here the downside of a failure could be very painful.
Ddd, personally dont think you are factoring in enough costs. Don’t think you gonna bank this before this April either 😉
Events, it’s not a processing plant it is a ball mill, just one part and not sure it is 100% there or if the last payment has been made yet. As for keeping up. Basically where we were a year ago but with more dilution . Hopefully a deal comes in the coming months but still no guarantees . Rome wasn’t built in a day 😜👁️🍉
Dr, agree royal rd are not desirable. For me a mid tier producer is a good bet. Cash generative, and more of a hurry than majors. Aris would be a good fit or there is mineros who operate the hemco project in Nicaragua but are Colombia based. Collective are a good company but do they need more on their plate. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Hi Jack, been buying back gradually, stepped it up a bit this week but determined to keep average to around 4 p. 3.5 stm do room got a bit more . I think at some point reality will hit here and personally want to be derisked as soon as poss. Obvs need to be able to change tack depending on how things pan out but personally my view is the 50 p pump was exactly that and unlikely to see that again but we definitely will see regular confetti. Getting the asset back is just the first step.🤞 for a continuation but imv the only way to be in aim is to be prepared to trade. This isn’t a football club and if it was you would sack the managers. You have to look after yourself cos they sure as hell are doing so their end.
Good luck
Surrey, you may have little concern but not all see it like that. This idea put forth that the sp in short term doesn’t matter has been proven flawed at every one of the numerous cash raises worked out at a discount to vwap.
Perhaps as well as reminding one’s self of why you invested it is pertinent to ask what price you first invested. This is far from a done deal still and over a year with no tangible results isn’t encouraging to outside investors. Many new buyers I suspect have departed with their quick 50% .
