I remember when my stock broker recommended GSK to me about 17/18 years ago. The SP was already £15+. Now 17/18 years later, it has dropped to £13+! I wonder is it really a good idea to hold shares long term? Lol😂 😂

Lol yes MrDC, India is growing fast but not enough to affect the world stock markets yet. Maybe later when they have become the new China. Right now, it's all about the USA and China. If these two are doing well then the stock markets will have a blue day particularly, the miners, when China gives a set of good reading data. If you read the financial news or stock markets reports every day, you seldom see anyone mentioned about India but just the USA and China. These two are the driving forces at the moment. That's why we need them to do well.

Well MrDC, I think all the miners are affected by the downturn of the Chinese economy. Particularly Rio Tinto, it was over £60 and now it has dropped to £47. So are the other mining giants such as BHP and AAL. The SP of all of them have fallen to their lowest. India can't do much to help us. We need the Chinese economy to improve.

Time flies, interim dividend next month. Let's hope that people will start buying again. Would be nice to see it revisit £3 once more.

Yes, but most importantly, we need good and stable copper prices. Also the Chinese economy need to be improved too. So that all miners will be saved from collapsed.

Reacted too slowly and missed the chance to top-up when it fell to the 1230's. Grrrr...

Yes, always top-up during big drops. I also top-upped my GLEN when it drops to 436 a couple of days ago. Now it has climbed to 459. GLA

Already top-upped yesterday at 552. Now I am hoping that it will revisit 620 and above again soon.

MNG made a loss of £1.619b after tax last year. So, the EPS was -66p and the total dividend was 19.60p. The dividend cover of -3.37 seems correct. I wonder why/how did they make such a huge loss??

Right Ade, I know you are joking, but just in case someone else doesn't know. There will be also an interim dividend of 22c (17.13p) on top of the special and will be paid at the same time. Therefore the total will be roughly about 23,4p.

Actually, it's 8c, about 6.26p per share.

I believe this is just temporary drip. The current SP is well below the NAV of 115+p. With a 7.5p dividend, this is pretty attractive I must say. So, I'll buy back if it falls to the 80's.
