The hope of the countrymen, mainly the inhabitants of Dinajpur's Hakimpur Upazila, is shining centering the newly found iron ore in the Bangla Hili for the estimated contribution to the national economy and social infrastructure.
A section of people of the upazila are passing charming days as they came to know through media reports that the fifth largest iron mine is situated in their locality.
Such information has crossed the boundary of cheerfulness of the mass people based on the public representatives' expectation of a huge stock of the precious metals at Ishobpur village in Bangla Hili under Dinajpur district.
They termed Dinajpur as a God gifted place for huge natural resources as Geological Survey of Bangladesh (GSB) experts and other researchers have found Phulbari coal mine and Ghoraghat coal mine before the tracing of Bangla Hili iron ore mine.
They demanded more dredging in Dinajpur district and its adjacent areas to find more mine based resources, like coal, iron, nickel and copper as the region was under sea more than 60 crore years ago.
Locals in this region are excited with this development and lauded the exploration team for their splendid efforts. They hoped that the mine
would boost the economy of this region, and create employment opportunities for the people.
Dinajpur Constituency-6 MP Shibly Sadik has termed the Bangla Hili iron ore as the first iron mine in Bangladesh while the existence of the first ever iron mine was discovered at Murshidpur in the same upazila back in 2013.
According to him, this project is not only the presence of an iron mine first in Bangladesh, it will likely to be among the top 10 iron mines in the world.
Shibly Sadik said, "In accordance with government's various steps to find natural resources all over the country, we found Dighipara coal mine, and hoping for an iron mine at Ishobpur, both in Dinajpur district. These mines will enrich Bangladesh as well as the lives of our people."
Abu Naser, Lecturer of Bangla at Hazi Mohsin Government College in Joypurhat's Panchbibi, said, "Dinajpur likely to turn the hub of the national economy for mine based resources."
Aminul Islam, one of landlord of the project, said that the inhabitants of the area are passing cheerful times for finding iron ore in the area.
He said that locals are excited with this development and lauded the exploration team for their efforts.
Mizanur Rahman, a businessman at Bangla Hili, said they hope that the mine would boost the economy of this region, and create employment opportunities for the people.
Masud Rana, Deputy Director of GSB, said, "In the second phase of the exploration we are evaluating the samples for the presence of magnetite minerals. To assess the reserves and quality of the detected materials we will need extensive laboratory tests."
