Looking Forward ……28 Jan 2026 20:21
Okay, so we are feeling a little beaten up at the moment, and no matter what news we have had, the SP, seamed to have been held between 5 to 7p for months, then just as we think we are getting somewhere, we get the placing slightly sooner than expected to knock us once again, which took us back to the 6p region again, with millions traded, we think that’s all been taken up quite quickly and are ready to move on again, but then we get knocked again with the news of Paul yesterday…
But that’s all behind us now, so let’s start brushing ourselves off, and picking ourselves back up again,….
We know from Bangla news and due to the elections that we are potentially closer now than we have ever been to positive news for GCM, and mining at Phulbari than ever before!
- BNP have openly stated that coal will be part of the energy mix if they win the election (very likely)
- Jamaat have said that if they win the elections (unlikely) that the country should use its own resources for energy
- The Interim Government have produced a new Energy Policy and have recommended that the new elected government take it up, in it they have recommended a massive increase in coal use, saying that imported coal should be reduced, and own coal resources should be used
- We know that of all the potential coal mines in Bangladesh, Phulbari is the only mine ready to go, and could be producing with in 2 to 3 years, all others are years away …
- Elections to take place on the 12th Feb, the BNP are expected to win by a landslide
- Tarique is to start campaigning in the north this week
- The BNP manifesto is to released on Sunday
So hopefully now is the time to move on…
Onwards and upwards.. GL all 🤞
