BNP pitches sweeping economic roadmap, eyes trillion-dollar GDP

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has placed economic restructuring at the centre of its election manifesto, promising a “democratisation of the economy”, deep financial sector reforms and an ambitious target of transforming Bangladesh into a one-trillion-dollar economy by 2034.

Framing the current economy as fragile and concentrated in the hands of a few, the party says its strategy will focus on job creation, investment-led growth and institutional reforms aimed at restoring confidence among businesses and investors.

Push for inclusive growth and trillion-dollar vision

BNP’s economic vision ties industrial growth to infrastructure and energy reforms. The party targets 35,000 megawatts of power generation by 2030 alongside smart grid development, contract transparency and reduced import dependency. Renewable energy is expected to account for 20 percent of the energy mix by the same year.

What’s also going to be very interesting, is that now we are into double figures, the MM’s will shortly be looking to reduce their shareholding from 150,000 shares down to 75,000 shares, so will obviously make trading that much more interesting 😊

Personally I’m looking forward to hearing Tarique Rahman the BNP leader speak on Saturday, when the BNP have a rally at Dinajpur, hoping that like at Rangpur, he again mentions own coal at this rally …

Grundles, I’m honestly not being sarcastic, but have you not heard the video from the Rangpur rally where BNP leader Tarique Rahman himself said if they win the election, BNP will use the coal in the north, or the other article where another BNP member (sorry can’t remember his name right now) said that if they win, BNP will open pit mine the coal, knowing Phulbari is the only one ready to go, or the fact that even Yunus and the Interim government have said the next elected government should use own coal and that they have done the background work to enable them to do this, or etc etc …. I could go on all night ….

IMHO from all the info we have been given this is now a done deal, and I think that as soon as much has already been done when they win, the BNP will hit the road running ….

YKIR, I’m not getting into a discussion about that, all i’m saying is, that what ever you think about the site, one thing is certain, and that is that it is a very good and informative site and for anyone doing research on GCM!

Looks like as info starts to leak out about the BNP manifesto, the Teesta River Project is one of their commitments, and we know that we think that this is connected to Phulbari and the overburden 👍
