Tarique to tour northern districts Saturday in 2nd-phase campaign

According to the party’s media cell, Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka by air at 10am for Saidpur Airport and address three election rallies during the visit.

From Saidpur Airport, he will travel to three districts by helicopter.

As per his schedule, he will speak at a BNP rally in Thakurgaon at 11:30am, in Nilphamari at 1:20pm and in Birampur of Dinajpur at 2:20pm.

Interim govt to hand over power as soon as possible: Shafiqul Alam

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Shafiqul Alam said that once the elected members of parliament take oath, power will be transferred immediately to their representatives.

He said the entire transition process could be completed within three days of the election.

“After MPs are sworn in, the leader of the majority party will be invited to take oath as the new prime minister,” he said, adding that the handover could be completed by February 15 or 16 and would not extend beyond February 17 or 18.

DINAJPUR, Feb 04, 2026 (BSS)– BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will visit three northern districts Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari on February 7 as part of his election campaign.

BNP Standing Committee Member and BNP-nominated candidate for the Dinajpur-6 constituency Dr AZM Zahid Hossain told journalists this afternoon after a meeting at Dinajpur party office.

Dr Zahid Hossain said Tarique Rahman will conduct election campaign in the three districts of the Rangpur division by helicopter instead of travelling by road.

Although February 7 has been fixed for the visit, the exact schedule is yet to be finalised, he said, adding that it will depend on security arrangements, weather conditions and decisions of the tour coordinators.

He said on the day, Tarique Rahman will address public rallies in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Nilphamari in support of the party nominated candidates.

Well that’s a good start to the day, and I do think that the buying will continue at a steady pace now, but just not in the volume and at the speed that we are looking for, or expected, not just yet. we could consider ourselves the lucky ones, I do kind of get it, and why we are struggling for buyers right now…. We know what’s gong on because we are so sad lol, and read every article on the boards, every hour of the day, and the initial buying today would have been those already invested in GCM, now what it needs is for the rest of the market to let the news sink in, and then imo we will get the rise we are all looking for ……

The next part of the jigsaw will be the BNP manifesto later this week. Again, we all know what’s gong on and we think we know what will be in the manifesto, but it now needs the wider market and of course those all important institutions, to see, read and digest the news to understand the story and then we will probably get a speeding ticket ….
