Fyg4676, I would say, someone bought, and a few sold to fill that order, that’s why the price was stable last week, even with the sell orders that we saw… the price has now dropped after the 150k sell because there is no longer a big buy order to fill and support the price, so any more sells and the price is likely to drop further, unless of course someone else steps up and places another large buy order… imo of course…..

Five Indian power companies face over $1 billion payment outage risk in Bangladesh

Five Indian power companies that supply electricity to Bangladesh are owed more than $1 billion, said industry executives aware of the matter. About $800 million of this is due to Adani Power, which supplies electricity from its 1.6 GW coal-fired plant in Godda, Jharkhand, through a dedicated transmission corridor.

SEIL Energy India is owed about $150 million as on June 30, 2024. It has a power purchase agreement for 250 MW with Bangladesh, where an uprising recently forced its Prime Minister to flee to India. NTPC, which supplies around 740 MW from three of its plants, is owed nearly $80 million.

PTC India had been owed about $84.5 million as of March end. Of this, it has got $46 million till August 25, the company said in an emailed response to ET's query.

1,320MW Coal Power Plant in Patuakhali to Fire Up in October

A 1,320-megawatt (MW) coal-based thermal power plant located in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali is ready to begin commercial operations by the end of this year, officials said.

The first of the plant's two units, which can generate 660 MW daily, will commence production in October while the second will start in December.

This is the second 1,320 MW coal-based power plant in Kalapara upazila, with the Payra Thermal Power Plant situated nearby.

Norinco Intl Cooperation Ltd, a Chinese heavy construction company, and the state-owned Rural Power Company Limited built the plant under a joint venture called RPCL-Norinco Intl Power Limited (RNPL).

Costing Tk 27,000 crore, construction of the 950-acre plant began in August of 2019.

It is located on the banks of Ramnabad river, just two kilometers north of the Payra plant
