My favourite passage from A Christmas Carol is when Marley's ghost shows Scrooge the unhappy souls wandering the earth outside his window:

“It is required of every man,” the Ghost returned, “that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellowmen, and travel far and wide; and if that spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death. It is doomed to wander through the world—oh, woe is me!—and witness what it cannot share, but might have shared on earth, and turned to happiness!”

I often reflect on that, moreso I think as the years go by and the future doesn't seems as limitless as it once did.

Or do day traders and TA merchants just basically talk out their backsides?

I think today was the most important watershed certainly if my time involved with Solg. I think there is great cause for optimism that something big may happen soon... just not big enough for the true believers. I see a 110% upside from here. But as for 132p a share, etc, that surely is now obvious to everyone that ththe is no realistic path to anything like that. A bruised and battered Solg will probably go for 50p - faced with endless drift, delay, machinations and dilutions, what chance has the small investor got against the large scale lure of a fast buck for the big boys? A real sickener or anyone who held on time and time again at the 42p mark. A sad prospect, but I really respect and admire the defiance and pith shown on this board today - Solgers are truly a tough old breed.

If he still hasn't found the bog after 2 weeks, we are probably in trouble.

Though not as much trouble as him, if you think about it.

The new CEO has proved a steady hand on the tiller thus far, nice to see 25p holding pretty firm.

I know TA has its fans and I daresay trading a fairly stable blue chip there are patterns of movement that could be exploited, but generally it only ever caused carnage with SOLG with people holding on (and even buying) at the 42p level because the board was suddenly overrun with TA witchdoctors telling them the next stop was 62p and then beyond that the Elliot Wave...

It's the madness of crowds. It sounds a bit far fetched when I say it, but just wait till the next time this rises dramatically up over 30p and the board is suddenly overrun with TA experts who'd never heard of SOLG in their life but who suddenly think it's the best investment ever. Pumped and dumped, pumped and dumped - the TA frenzy created it's own rise each time. The 42p mark always seem to be the wake up call, the TA artists vanish, the price falls back to 37p then 35p then back into the 20s and we have a new generation of SOLGers underwater.

Time and again, the only real "resistance" around here is me, not swallowing this guff.

My favourite was the Bollinger Band, but sadly it was never a feature of this board. Always sounded glamorous.

Of course, the TA enthusiasts only ever have something to say when the SP is rising at a reasonably healthy rate. It's like a weather report telling you it's raining when you are already soaking wet.

It's not actually reaching a level that triggers it - it's the amount we jump in one day usually. So if the SP rises 3p, or spikes to 30p on news, it's Elliot Wave time and tis the charts you see...

Me old crayons are saying if we get over 25p after being at 21.75p on Black Friday then they says they predicted this rise. It was in the charts you see. I just forgot to mention it, I did.

My escalator remark refers to the faithful small investor - buying in and buying in to increase their stake over time while the great downward pressure of dilution from above actually decreases their stake in real terms.

Thus the MCAP has increased about 40% in my time with SOLG while the SP is exactly where it was.

It would have been nice for loyal private investors to share in some of this success - but our noses are nowhere near the troughs unfortunately. What we did get (and can't complain about) is about 3 exit points at the 42p level - but there too, loyalty works against the little man.

You have quite a unique approach to investing.... one that Nick and the BoD clearly don't share when it comes to themselves but have been no doubt grateful to hear among the poor bloody infantry down these past years of massive diltuion.

Hey DG1Investor great to see you on here again too, I think the SP was firmly stuck at 19p and we were both fairly worn down by it last time we spoke. Almost gave up but never quite did. I hope you've been well.

BHPs strategy is dilution? There is 1.2 billion extra shares in circulation since I first bought in thanks to Nick and the board.

Oh smickster, the trouble with you and many other on here is:

When the SP is below 25p you have no self belief.

When the SP is over 35p you have no self control.

Both extremes get you into trouble.
