But isn't that the risk of speculating and investing in shares? If a great PFS does come out, you've missed the boat mate.

And let me say this as a fairly long term investor in SOLG - historically they have been as leaky as a sieve, sometimes outrageously so, to the detriment of the small shareholders. So I think there's a good chance that good news is already out there. remember we are just the minnows here - the big fish don't play by the same rules.

Having just spent a full week with no internet access (I'd recommend it), I think I've found it's true that a watched pot never boils, because I've come back to find the SOLG pot bubbling away nicely.

I'd expected to be at 40p by now, but it's clear that this rise is being built on reinforced concrete, not fluff and hype, with some very big buyers getting in very carefully without spiking the price up for themselves.

I expect this to settle at the 40p level in anticipation of confirmation that the endgame is upon us. The giveaway for this will be no retrace from this level this time round and hopefully no new Solgers left underwater.

Onlyonewhufc, of course you can bounce from board to board mate, it's just not the done thing to rabbit on about another share. My own views are very often unwelcome here but at least I stick to talking about SOLG.

Richer - yes I am feeling very chipper about this coming period. I have a strict rule never to buy SOLG above 27p so I am not trading at the moment, but I do have a permanent holding tucked away for the endgame and I really do feel that the endgame is now weeks away. I can only see us building from here, with big players solidly but carefully buying without triggering a spike... when we hit 37p I expect the floodgates to open and we'll be above 40p in no time. where we go from there I don't know, but I don't see a retreat this time - there comes a point where you just got to hold. We can all have wildly different expectations on a sale pice but they are ALL way above here.

I think it's finally time the techtonic plates start to shift and things may happen very fast - it will be a very. very interesting summer.

I'm off on to Spain for a week, don't expect to be online much and suspect next time I post we'll be 40p.

We have only ever risen to the 40p level due to takeover bid rumours - not exploration updates or other good news the market never seems to care about. The first sign that these are more than just rumours, then BOOM.

I will add - I know a lot on here strongly disagree with my 60p price tag... if I'm wrong, and the market believes I'm wrong then 40p in the short term might be a very conservative estimate indeed, but that will become clear if a bid becomes more and more likely. but I do think I'm being realistic given the 2.2billion shares in issuue.

A few little tree shakes along the way, but I suspect a lot of positioning taking place to load up before summer... when the fireworks begin it will be too late. I expect some RNSs soon as bigger investors cross various % thresholds. The big boys will be carefully trying to stock up here without triggering a price spike but as soon as they do cross a 5 threshold that'll probably act as the starting gun..

I forgot how crazy this board gets over 30p, it's not just the TA merchants but the crazy prospectors of the new gold rush... they were always invested in Solg,just never mentioned it.... had their eye on this share, didn't like it at 21p but now it's the bargain of the century... plus news of all the other hot shares we should invest in...

Could go higher but 40p+ is the graveyard of many brave Solgers in the past. there are a lot of people underwater from the last visit to over 40p - they might want out.

Solid to 40p then some jitters - but if they takeover rumours don't go away, we should finally stick at this level for more than a few days for once.

It'd be nice, for the first time, if we could hit 40p without it creating a new generation of Solgers who end up under water for months.

$6billion (dollars)? That would do nicely, but BHP have had a few chunks of us at a fraction of that and i don't suspect they want to play fair.

Soz Slug I meant 200 million shares at 25p each meaning £50million worth. it was just a hypothetical example anyway - basically to show on the big scale that when your returns get huge (on paper) you can't afford (unlike a private investor) to allow those profits to vanish as you play the long game when you've got investment clients to answer to. There's always an acceptable ROI to the big boys that would seem unacceptable to a small investor who has been on a journey with the share - the emotional attachment isn't there.
