40p is the new 25p.

We may dip to 37p or spike to 43p, but 40p is the new nexus prior to big news dropping. Looks like there may be some good day trading until then too. The trick is not to get scared - this was a rerate not a spike.

40p is where the market has pinned us prior to a bid, we ain't going nowhere now - up or down - until some big news drops.

I've revised my expectations upwards.

We will stay at the 40p level until a bid arrives... or in the highly unlikely event the PFS is a damp sqib we will be heading back to 24p.

I assume you've been busy these past weeks with your top level shuttle diplomacy between Russia and Ukraine.

Everytime we got to 40p over the years, then dropped back into the 20s, a new generation of Solgers underwater who had bought into the hype at 37p+ were created. Can't blame these guys for getting back out after breaking even again or taking a tiny profit now.

"You can keep the cheese, I just want out of the trap" is a very understandable emotion for an investor.

But it proves the rule - you should never, ever sell SOLG at a loss unless you are desperate for the cash. There was always going to come a day when we were back up here, and ready to go beyond previous levels. Short fallback to 38p is perfectly understandable, as is a bursts up to 42p or so as we stay roughly at the 40p level pending news (which we now know is definitely coming next week).

I think a bid could come in almost immediately after that. Imagine that guys - jam today at long last.

On Everest, Camp IV, also known as the South Col ("Col" is a word for saddle, or pass) is the last major camp before climbers make their summit push.

This is where we are resting this morning, gathering strength.

For me the summit is 40p - until we receive a bid this summer. Others may be looking much higher. But I base my target on the risk/reward position the market will keep this share prior to any fireworks (or disappointment).

This recent rise from 25p has felt more solid than any I can recall (we've been to 42p before 3 or 4 times now). The board isn't full of rampers and TA fly by night artists or hysterical optimism and hype this time - this is no pump and dump exercise, but a rerate prior to big news and probably the endgame.

You can drive yourself daft telling yourself that "patience will be rewarded" over the years, but with Solg is does have to eventually turn out to be true, despite the dilution along the way, it looks like we are going to finally see the promised land.

Kat2008 we always attract some right bangers on this board when the SP is over 30p but you have to be the barmiest fruitloop ever. How much is Putin paying you per post? I hope its not in roubles.

Massive, just reading about the latest atrocities this morning, if I were you I'd be off dumping my Russian investments ASAP and stop bothering the Solg board. With an economy smaller than Italys, these beasts, these utter brute, are never going to be allowed back in to the world economy again.

Can't blame people for profit-taking at various points - if I had a trading tranche in here at the moment rather than just my permanent long term rump of shares, I'd be taking advantage too.... but there's a reason this has risen from 26p to 36p in a matter of days, and the story clearly isn't going to end here. SOLG has been leaky as a sieve in the past: I know the market knows something, the big boys are circling, and it had to finally happen some day.

This rerate won't stop until the market has us at a suitable risk/reward level vis a vis an incoming summer bid.

I will keep saying 40p until we get there, and I don't care how stupid I sound saying it.

Fasten your seatbelts, we will be roaring up again soon.

I don't make price predictions often, but with this head of steam I see us hitting 42p before settling down to 40p until the big news arrives.
