A good reason to have shares and funds rather than cash going forward is inflation which will start rearing its head soon. Which the goverment will welcome as it will water down the debit that the country has incurred due to covid.

Cheers SpikeyJ , I will have a look . I’ve now got about 6 funds in the Asia Pacific region, as I personally think it’s a no brained. Also just as a little investment I bought liontrust uk growth .
I now it sounds mad but uk stocks are very low so thought it might do ok over the next few years.

Bought some early to hold. Now I can wait for a drop to buy more. :-)

Nice to see that some board members are retiring after milking the cow for 9 years. I wonder were they will be putting thier payoffs .

I’m waiting for BGCG to drop a wee bit. Took all my money out the other day. But now looking to buy back and hold for 3 years(about). You cannot beat Asia going forward from now in my view as long as you stick with a decent fund group.

Agree, think slater and Anderson have cut the investment in Telsa a bit and will be cutting more to fund purchase of Chargepoint /? Name escapes me . As you say a bit dear at the moment same with BGCG .

What I try to do with what I think is a good trust like BGCG, Scottish mortgage, S4capital, etc and some shares is make sure I have a core holding (not to be touched for long term) and then have some that I buy and sell that way if lm lucky I get the best of both worlds . Doesn’t always work but seems ok. Out of BGCG at the moment but hoping for a market drop so I can get back in.

Yes, I’m still waiting for a drop which may not happen. If not I will just buy in at the prevailing sp.

Good idea, that way you don’t have all your eggs in one basket . :-). Might be worth while waiting for a drop in the sp as it’s up a fair bit today then again it’s hard picking a good entry point ,but long term say 3 years you should be ok.

Avast business deal with west coast looks good so am adding as the sp has dropped.

Think I may add as looking over all the websites mediamonks, S4 , etc all looks good .

One of my best is FSSA China growth. Run by Martin Lau . Brilliant guy who use to run the same fund more or less before they split from first state .

Hi Kookan, this isn’t a recommendation just what I have. Baillie Gifford China growth trust (BGCG) and pacific fund.

Only a small amount of volume so am still expecting a good drop, I hope:-)

Yep, baillie Gifford have an excellent stable of funds . I’ve put into Asia in two for the next 3 year hold as the Far East Asia. Will be zooming ahead. Based on me seeing first hand the way Malaysia China Indonesia Vietnam are progressing .unbelievable to what the area was 15 years ago .

This trust has history so am awaiting a drop having sold out . Good trust to hold for future prospects though.
