Denby, your inquiry has been answered by all at sea. You hear the headlines from the gov squawk on about inflation, but in truth they are reasonably happy as it brings down the country’s debit. :-).
I’m keeping hold of both. Also adding to Haleon bargain sp considering what products they have and regarding the debit it ain’t a problem as Haleon well generate a large cash flow which they will be able to use part of to cut the debit down a fair bit in the medium term . :-).
Magic I could press the recommend button a hundred times. If the likes of Unilever announced they would be buying Haleon the sp would fly. :-). So nobody will be getting it at a discount unless they bought low over time and reached the 30% in which case they would have to make an offer . So there for they could make on the 30% if they bought low. But would still be paying a premium for the rest on a declaration to buy out.
I’m hoping that on Monday one stock goes up and the other drops, if there is a big enough gap between the two over the week I will sell the one that goes up and put the money into the one that goes down. That’s the plan anyway. Both are good stocks to have .but might be time for me to try playing one against the other. Haleon possibly takeover target at some stage.
Market is doing a pre knee jerk reaction to the USA inflation figure later to day. If it drops back a bit I expect the footsie to gain what it looses today plus a bit more.
Fish cake, 33% capital gain and you are still holding. I would be out in a flash . :-). I think Haleon will attract buyers and expect the sp to go north.
I have added @150 , almost all my shares are blue but not blue enough! The way I see it 150 is better than 220 which was my last add. Now awaiting the BoE to put up rates by .5 %. As they said they will reign in inflation sooooon. We will see. :-).
As 1986, You may well be right also possibly that some investors are being worried about the markets overall. :-). I’m in the fortunate position we’re I can wait.
