A good brain would buy GSK or AstraZeneca. Rather than rainbows.

Very good move. You will see the benefit from the split. What I’m expecting is that when the split happens we will get shares in both companies depending obviously on your holding.
The healthcare sideS shares will in my opinion go up straight after as they will have both gsk and Pfizer produces .

The vaccine side may or may not drop a bit as the amount of costs associated with R&D but will go up in the medium to long term. Massive share to hold for the long term.

I’m adding at this sp. I think the overall market drop and the rns this afternoon has helped with the drop.

One way or another I will be offloading I think at a steep loss or small loss after the next results. That’s assuming I can get into a blue chip at a low sp, Unilever,gsk, AstraZeneca etc.

I am expecting a good drop to around 1200 after the next update based on the last statement by the company anything over 1300 is a no go .

A very good online site that gives up to date and interesting information is BIOSPACE.com There are quite a few good sites out there but I think this is one of the better ones. Well worth reading.

Yes, 250 odd pounds this week, not to be sniffed at. I think they and safoni will eventually come up with a vaccine. That’s not to say other companies won’t, as I expect one or two might based on the amount of governments money is being given to r&d and the number of excellent companies out there.

Your crystal ball must be better than mine, as I haven’t got a clue.

Well personally I think GSK are one of the best companies to be invested in which is why they are my major holdings by far. 1300 shares now . The other two very good companies in my view to be in are AstraZeneca and Unilever all good defensive stocks to be in when the xxxx hits the fan soon.

I’m lucky I suppose as I retired at 62. I don’t have a pension pot as such just isas which I manage myself through a broker. Which are a mix of bonds gilts and funds not a lot but enough. And shares . Gsk is good as it pays me over a grand per year. So this is one company I won’t be selling .

Just bought back in . Although not as low as my last foray, still quite happy with the sp long term now . Solid company plus the div even if they cut it ,it’s still good . Buying on decent lows now. (If they happen. Anyone want to buy some standard chartered blinking Chinese gov!

Noticed Aviva have bought again . It will be interesting to see if any directors buy back.

My view is based on the 20/04/2020 rns. Which was not brilliant . Since then the sp climbed to a peak in June then has dropped back a fair bit . As as you say the trading update will be in a few weeks time I’m expecting going on the info from The last update , to see a drop in the sp.

Which I am waiting for ,then I will buy . Obviously I could be wrong and the results may be favourable.
Abcam has very good management in my view and an excellent company for medium to long term
growth. But as they are (and I agree with) looking at investing for the near term future I cannot see
The sp motoring along in the near term. Just my thoughts. Notice the sp is going up as I type. Dam.

Denby69, yes I like the drop. Noticed two good things happened Allen knows were his bread is buttered and has been made to relinquish some of his other positions which is good for Abcam, and The good Dr Milner has gone good that he is using his money to help others.

The one thing that has stopped me buying is the sp is high in my view also I was expecting a suspension of the dividend ,which I am still expecting. If that happens the sp will drop then I’m back in. The sp may drop without that but will wait and see.

Hope your making some money . I have taken my eye off abc but now will have a look and keep an eye on it .

Not in my opinion,good dividends and the future with holding two good companies when the split eventually happens. I’m looking forward to it.

Well said crystalballbroke, there’s one thing I’ve learnt which isn’t much, is that never ever trust brokers or directors. Alls they want is your money. They are not your friends . I have noted the ceo of AstraZeneca talking up the sp saying that a vaccine is imminent. He’s said it twice over the last month or so. Probably his dog has bought shares the day before.

There may well be a vaccine made that works but to keep saying it without knowing it’s going to work by the ceo is not on. Now having said that I will buy AstraZeneca on any good drop.
