Morning folks. Took a small position yesterday on contract news , yesterdays and recent. Looks really promising versus MCAP?

Typical. Watch the share like a hawk...... pop over to mothers to get her shopping and stay the night and this RNS lands. No Tinternet at hers (she's 96) , so just spotted it. FANTASTIC and as we've been predicting for ages. This company will be massive if it's allowed to get there. Any buy out will be well above £1 in my opinion and hopefully a while off. Sales and pipeline will steadily increase in the meantime and the biggest penny ever will drop. We've done the numbers on many occasions and as yet we've barely touched the surface. Couldn't agree more H , particularly as the serious pollution problems are city based. My issue is that they are being sneaky and typically Tory with the ordinary Joe. It's basically 'Let them eat cake' ..... and don't give a flying Fancy that there are no cakes available. A great many will be carless very soon and a great many poorer families won't have an option to buy a 'better' one. As an ITM'er my original point was lost within my rant.... it's good news for the H2 and EV mercenary.

Believe me Bilbs , I'm all for a cleaner planet , I wouldn't be invested here ( in all ways ) if I wasn't. Difficult decisions have to be taken , but for crying out loud give people the chance to change in a sensible way. Give them some kind of fore-warning. Is someone going to phone Trump and the other major polluters this afternoon and fill them in on what they need to do tomorrow? Sure , swap out diesel , assuming you can afford to but what happens if you can't? That's the B side of my pomposity point. A genuine thank you for your response though.

Sorry Bilbs but that's just sheer pompous dross. "Life changes , move on...". Give me an alternative? The government are making reckless ill-informed decisions. Nothing new I know but some common sense should be employed. The basic problem is we're not moving on yet so why lumber the UK with an impossible position? It's all very well spouting on about technologies etc. , you know a lot more than me , but there's a real world to live in day to day and that world will change at a much slower rate if idiotic decisions are taken. These MOT changes will affect all the delivery fleets out there, all the van hire companies etc, taxis , you name it , and virtually overnight with zero warning. Zero alternatives. "It's the planet we are talking about".... of course it's the planet , check out my previous posts. Ivory tower!.... on no hang on , that's banned too.....

Possess an old Merc Estate E270. Brilliant car , much abused , 174K , transports stuff for work , gets 43 mpg , destroys the planet. Spent a fair bit on it recently , just been to garage for prospect of new front wheel bearings as now ABS/EPS systems affected. Other issues too.

Have been advised the following:

New MOT emissions test and regs will most likely render the car a write off. They've written off 2 this week. Any visible gas you're stuffed and emissions levels must be almost as it left the factory. So save my money , get a new car.

No point getting a newer diesel as they're basically useless. Sweeping statement but problems with engines , turbos , gear boxes ... you name it. Too many systems built in , too many things unable to be worked on. Lifespan vs. cost ratios frightening.

Basically they don't make things like they used to.

Where does that leave anyone who doesn't want an EV? I could possibly make it work for me but for the million things we've written on here in the past , I WILL NOT be buying one.

Sorry to droan on but I'm left with 2 questions:

1. Where do the minds come from that are developing tomorrows cars etc. and are they either incredibly smart or the opposite?

2. Why are we letting the government get away with the intro of ridiculous new regulations to get them out of a diesel scrappage scheme and put all the costs ion the driver and at a point in time when they haven't come up with an alternative ie. an H2 infrastructure and sensible motor options to use said option?

This is a massive issue and the penny has yet to drop.

EV is fine for Peter Pootle with his own garage/drive and who needs a car for pootling about town. Anything more ?.... tricky to justify.

SP dropping? £250M of tender opportunities apparently. Do we know what these are and will we be served a slice?

The roof turbine thing was supposed to be tongue in cheek but the concept of as green as you can get fuel for cars wasn't. If you can pluck it from the air and drive away on it then.... I ask you , how difficult a job is that to sell to a green minded public?

Don't mind where the turbines or solar panels are situated but can't think of a major service station whose appearance would be further scarred by either.......

PS. Maybe our frontline partnerships should be with the Vestas of this world before anyone else. Pure green. An easier sell would be hard to find.

Kind of the perfect idea Itsa.... A motorway Shell forecourt with a bloody great turbine on top. A steady stream of reps in their attractive Toyota H2 Wotsits pulling fuel from the ITM pumps. Coachloads of kids on school trips holding clipboards with their teachers explaining how it all works and how wonderful the ITM/Shell/Vestas partnership is in saving the planet...... However imaginative this may seem , it'd work.... GLA

Update well received. Far more positives than negatives perceived. Probably is a good time to buy , personally I have enough. SP down a bit due to the overspend note , would have been very interesting without it?

The cost of H2 infrastructure needn't be that immense , only if it is produced on site. Ok ideally we don't want H2 tankers on the roads but ultimately the H2 will be produced where it makes most financial sense. The only thing that matters is that the electricity needed to produce the H2/Charge EV's is as green as possible. Anything other than pure green really isn't the progress we need. Ignoring the electricity question , any views on the relative greenness of H2 versus Battery from the engineers/chemists/geologists on the board. How can we sum up the difference when taking creation/production and disposal issues into account?

A little mixed but overall positive IMO. Feel the figures are still peanuts relative to what will ensue. Something sizeable will land on the contract pile , perhaps something unexpected and not necessarily within the £250M. Big boys develop big plans. We are well placed and the new factory , having landed a small accounting dig in the ribs , improves our positioning significantly. GLA and GWA.

We're lucky to be English/British , nothing more. No skill involved in being born , purely luck. As for 'pride' , you can keep it , it achieves nothing other than riling every one else , look at the Yanks! Now when Brexit actually starts to hit I'll be all for buying British and hopefully the government et al will do the same. Need some NEW contract news here pronto. GLA

Surely this is about whether we end up with a Hydrogen economy of any size or not , and can that question be pinned to the approach of one smallish UK outfit? Will we not end up with a bit of this and a bit of that? Can't disagree that a few high level ITM bottoms seem to require a rocket or two. I have a box of matches.... GLA

Yep Bilbs. First time to my knowledge that you've had a management dig? What are they missing in your opinion? Dynamism? Direction? A marketing department?....

Had been watching the tumbleweeds drift past..... as always just crying out for some news on contracts etc. May spend some of this years ISA but already hold quite a few.....

Have made a few �'s on SXX myself with a few quick ins and outs. Was close to buying a major chunk at 22p , not that long ago. Then it went up ..... and has carried on that trend. Not gutted but have been viewing it as one for the future for a couple of years. That said if it falls back in a major way it may fill a chunk of this years ISA.
