Noel, yes exactly. Next comes the validation stage, animal models etc. In addition, for a partner to make money from an existing drug which isn't theirs (I assume the drugs they tested are off patent also) they need to get protection from competition for a few years (orphan drug or similar status) and for that to happen they need to prove to regulatory authorities how the drug works in a particular condition, that it is safe for that condition and that is efficacious for that condition. That means labwork, animal models and then clinical trials. And for a good reaaon, even if it's just a handful of targets they need to setup experiments to see that the AI (or human) driven hypothesis has merit and choose the drug that is most likely to work before commiting to clinical trials. That is all good and established way to approach a target but it isn't going to happen in a year. I would guess at least couple of years before they start any trials and that is if they find good evidemce that one of these targets would actually work.
