It's a good order book but it only reflects the order status of each Market Maker. What we need now is buying that encourages each MM to shift their bid prices up..We need trading activity and we need ACTIVE MARKET MAKERS ACTIVELY BIDDING.

The MM's will sit there all day at this price until buyers or indeed sellers turn up to force them into changing their position

Oh, I wouldn't want to see a takeover now as well, assuming we get one that is but now the stars are aligning we may well get one but then we may not. And the price? Well, that's out of our control so it is what it is if it ever is at all

It's an exciting time though. We can all feel that SEE is nearly on the cusp of delivering (thanks to R & D and mandatory regulations and the rise of semi-automated and automated driving) all that it's been working towards

I was intrigued that SEE brought to the CMD so many of the main guys last week....I wonder why that is? I bet they were holding various meetings with analysts and customer companies alike and needed the main team on-board

I'd wait until the act obtains legal force - I believe this is when SEE should tell the market though the market would know anyway - as confirmation with comments from SEE about how this removes uncertainty and paves the way for a massive increase in our target market etc etc

SEE need to emphasise the vital importance of this act to the future of and capitalisation value of the company

I wonder now that this regulatory uncertainty's been eliminated that we may see an offer from one of the larger players? And considering it's a given other jurisdictions (Japan, China, USA, Australia, NZ) will surely follow the regulatory direction of the EU (as per UNECE). With SEE DMS being present in the US, UK, Europe, Japan, Asia and China our strategic position would prove a tempting target for a bigger player

4. Key issues and principles to be considered by WP29 subsidiary bodies as a priority

8. The following list of issues and principles will guide discussions and activities on automated/autonomous vehicles within WP.29 and each of its relevant subsidiary Working Parties. The aim is to capture the shared interests and concerns of regulatory authorities, provide the general parameters for work, and to provide common definitions and guidance.

9. The following is a list of common principles with brief descriptions and explanation. It is expected these would form the basis for further development.

c. Human Machine Interface (HMI) /Operator information:

Automated/autonomous vehicle should include driver engagement monitoring in cases where drivers could be involved (e.g. take over requests) in the driving task to assess driver awareness and readiness to perform the full driving task. The vehicle should request the driver to hand over the driving tasks in case that the driver needs to regain a proper control of the vehicle. In addition, automated vehicle should allow interaction with other road users (e.g. by means of external HMI on operational status of the vehicle, etc.)''

SEE need to step carefully with China. It's an authoritarian State with a highly sophisticated and widespread surveillance network monitoring each Chinese citizens lives. SEE do need to tread carefully in China especially considering SEE's raison d'etre is the monitoring of a driver's action in-cab and couple with the rise of GPS, vehicle to vehicle connectivity and other forms of vehicle data collection it may become a high risk area for SEE in terms of invasive regulation surrounding coercion and data capture to assist the Chinese communist State in their quest to control all aspects of each Chinese citizen's life

I can now confirm that the new European Union ‘General Safety Regulation’ rules are set to enter into force in January/February 2020, then start applying 30 months later.

The process, I’ve been told by an EU spokesperson, is as follows:

Safestocks was spot on, again so when should SEE release an RNS? When 1 above is triggered? 2 or 3?

So comes into force just before Xmas (day that is)..say, 20th December?

I think this piece of news even though it's been trialled for some time is pivotal to SEE's future and deserves an RNS to formally celebrate and confirm the event for posterity and indeed for prosperity

this is a cost-effectiveness analysis of introducing new safety advances such as DMS....the average cost/each vehicle (including cars, vans, buses, suvs etc) is around £115-£130/vehicle....I'm not sure how many new vehicles are sold/annum in the EU but the potential market is around 16m vehicles per annum..a £2bn+ market.....

assuming other jurisdictions follow the EU's lead then the DMS market expands almost exponentially

Well, in the document posted by S2020 above (thanks to him as when he posted it it completely when over my head as to its importance) it specifically says and is highlighted in black 'ALL MOTOR VEHICLES'....which includes both new cars and new car models...in effect all new cars...

does this mean retrofit of existing new cars?

Will it mean retrofit of second hand cars?

the marker is HUGE. if you extrapolate it across all other markets based on the assumption that other jurisdictions will fall into line with EURO NCAP then it's a massive market for SEE to target

James - The market required MMs to notify a MM to MM trade some years ago but the MM's complained about this practice and it was scrapped. Each time a MM to MM trade was reported you'd see a flow of buys into that stock as it may have been an indication of a tight market for the stock..the MM's didn't like that one bit

That's a good point. Does it mean all brand new cars both new and older models are all 'brand new models'?

If it's brand new cars then the market is much wider than 'brand new models'....

Take a look at the regulations from October (on the link posted by S2020) (106 pages ) but use Adode Acrobat Reader and search for the usual buzzwords like 'distraction''drowsiness' 'facial recognition' 'eye tracking' adas' etc etc...it's bloody exciting stuff for SEE with areas for expansion
