You might be able to move on after the court case against the government over the award of the contract. It’s clear ABDX kept shareholders in the dark about the fact they didn’t get MHRA approval for the ABC-19 test, confirmed by the gov on 11th January. This is a can of worms and it seems there is more to come.

Portfolio company MHC is rising from the ashes. They launch their Covid-19 ‘Test to Release’ service a week on Monday and though there are plenty of players in the space it is a massive new market. From their website:
“it’s looking likely that PCR tests will be used in the Government’s Test-to-Release programme. This initiative will mean that you may be able to reduce quarantine time after overseas travel if you isolate for 5 days, and take a COVID test to be ‘released’.”
If this is how things pan out it’s very bad news for lateral flow test manufacturers though I suppose they’d have a market in basket-case banana republics like the US.

Looks like gov going for PCR tests to clear travellers for take off and entry. There will be room for many players and UK can lead the way in establishing an international standard as suggested by the Heathrow CEO today. Note he made no mention of lateral flow tests so be careful if you’re invested in companies reliant on them.

Saw the Heathrow CEO interview. He wants an international standard for covid testing so travellers know where they stand. He mentioned PCR and LAMP testing but didn’t include lateral flow.
